Elysyle Spa is a hidden gem. Located at the Penthouse of Wisma Elken, it is a world-class fusion spa that combines Eastern and Western elements in its setting, ambience and therapies. We often drive pass Wisma Elken without knowing about this beautiful space.
Elysyle Spa spans across a 10,000 square feet of tranquil surroundings. This award winning spa is dedicated to provide their guests a renewing experience within an exclusive, professional environment which integrates advanced technology with natural sciences and the human touch, whether for personal beauty or modern escape.
We were here for a much needed spa therapy after a stressful week at work. Since vacations of any kind seem few and far between for so many of us these days, it’s nice to indulge in a spa retreat at somewhere close to home.
I love the decoration style that is both contemporary and very soothing. Elysyle Spa that falls under Elken group’s wing, is a Japanese spa so the zen-like spa is quintessentially calm and peaceful.
Before a massage, we were served cookies and a pot of healing tea. It was a nice touch as we dare not eat too much before our therapies.
After that we were being ushered to one of their nicest treatment room for a foot soak to soften, soothe and refresh the feet, then rough skin is buffed away with the salt rub.
I like how the treatment room includes two dressing table – one for him and one for her.
It is apparent that Elysyle Spa pays a lot of attention of details, as judging from the table settings for a man and a women. There’s hair gel and shaving cream for him and a simple 3-step skin care products as well as combs, rubber band, etc for her.
Elysyle Spa uses their in house products for skin care, body care and spa range.
We love the yukata-s here. It is very comfortable to wear and for one moment, it seems like were in Japan for onsen.
After the foot soak, we stepped into the stone spa treatment room.
Stone Spa is an ancient Japanese spa therapy. The gemstones restore the energy balance of the body, mind and soul so all your senses converge in consonance, resonating harmoniously to exude a glowing radiance. The energy from gemstones is proven to relieve back and shoulder pain, constipation, rheumatism and arthritis, boost the immune system and alleviate allergies. Gemstones also release negative ions and infrared rays that reportedly help to lower stress levels, thus restoring your perfect balance.
We tried lying on our back facing down first, as it relieves back pain and muscle pain. Then I lied with my tummy facing down. It felt really warm and soothing as it regulates blood circulation and relaxes blood vessels.
Our bodies produce FIR (Far Infrared Rays) to heal, repair and balance itself. However, the production of FIRs reduce as we age or when we undergo stress. Stone Spa can stimulate the body’s internal FIR production and it also emits FIRs which can be absorbed by the body.
The Stone Spa’s temperature is not as hot as the sauna but it warms up the body from inside out. So even after a short 10 minutes inside, we perspired like we have completed a full workout. Our therapists prepared us umeshu tea, umeshu jelly and water to hydrate our bodies.
It’s time for the long awaited massage session!
We indulged on a full body relaxation massage which includes the back, neck, shoulders, legs, feet, arms, hands, and stomach. This beautiful massage has the right pressure according to our requirements. We especially enjoy the hot compresses and soothing atmosphere.
Our post massage snack again, was really delicious as it comes from Xenri Japanese Restaurant’s kitchen. It is definitely one of the best ways to spend our weekends. Now we can forget about hitting the malls (with big crowds) or watching a movie (long queue to buy tickets). If only every weekend can be a spa weekend!
