When it comes to indulgent gluttony in Malaysian terms, nothing quite beats a simple satisfying meal of rice “banger” with gravy and topped wwith juicy, golden piece of fried chicken. Warung Soho @ Plaza Damas is where you can enjoy such a meal with authentic Kelantanese taste.
Located at Plaza Damas, Warung Soho is located at one corner with some table seating and a beverage bar behind. Do expect to queue during lunch hour, but the line is fast moving.
The young chaps manning the little stall are friendly and funny. You just need to point to the dishes and they will pile it onto your “banana leaf plate”.
Some of their signature dishes are ayam soho, ayam kampung, telor gulai teringat, ikan tongkol and etc. We arrived late so they sold out on the ikon tongkol and telor gulai teringat (hard boiled egg with curry sauce).
Warung Soho’s version of ayam kampung (RM 7 with rice) is completely on point. The fried chicken is tender, the skin slightly crispy. With minimal seasoning and marination, we get to enjoy the real taste of the chicken. Best with those fiery sambal, so spicy and so syok! It is a must to banjir with lots of kuah gulai tradisi Cik Siti Wan Kembang.
Nasi Soho (RM 5)
Nasi Soho is one of their signature dishes – steamed white rice together with ayam soho marinated in a secret recipe created by the founder. It was really flavourful but a bit on the drying side.

Cheap, good portion and delicious; it is only right that Warung Soho attracts such a good crowd every day. Highly recommended!
