Maison Francaise, otherwise known as The French House is only a five-minute drive from the city centre. However, the dreamy white coloured standalone building will make you forget about the hustle and bustle of the city almost immediately.

The chic, black-and-white interior features elegant crystal chandeliers, paintings of talented French artists and glimmering glassware. Patrons can choose to be seated at the pool side, the verandah or the top floor.

The executive chef, Chef Franck Lamache has an impressive CV which include work experiences in many renowned restaurants such as 3star Michelin Crillion hotelin, Paris (les embassedeurs), Alain ducasse and Le taillevent.

Maison Francaise is offering an extensive wine list of over 150 premium wines from France.

We started off with an amuse-bouche – cream of avocado soup. This tummy warmer was so rich and creamy.

Red tuna carpaccio with salmon roe, lemon juice olive oil dressing and capers flower (RM 68). This amazing dish had incredible flavors that seem to explode in our mouth with every bite! The acidity and sweetness wee extremely well balanced along with the fresh red tune carpaccio.

Seared Langoustine from Brittany with Ratatouille. Langoustines are related to the lobster and look very similar, although smaller. However, its moist and succulent flesh is sweeter and brinier as compared to its cousin.

Grilled Duck Breast from France. The duck breast slices were grilled to perfection, resulting in a tender and moist texture. We also enjoyed the side vegetables, as these were being carefully sourced and selected from Cameron Highlands. They developed a natural sweetness after some simple grilling action.

Souffle with flavour of Passion Fruit. I’ve heard so much about Maison Francaise’s soufflé and it did not disappoint. It was so light, so moist, and so airy like clouds! The subtle passion fruit flavor was refreshing!

In Maison Francaise, Chef Franck Lamache serves classic French fare such as foie gras terrine, smoked salmon, seared glazed duck breast and bouillabaisse fish stew paired with an extraordinary wine selection. Guests can choose a three-, four- or five-course menu—followed by a perfect sweet ending made of Grand Marnier Souffle or Le Mont-Blanc.
You do pay a premium price for everything here but it is worth it, given the beautiful ambiance and the top food quality.
