Anjo is a hard-to-miss fine dining restaurant located just across Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur. Nothing says glamour like gilded decor. Black walls with gold detailing throughout instantly adds grandeur to the entire space.
A hidden bar is located behind the A frame door as you entered the restaurant, whereas the counter seat with live kitchen setting is further down the corridor.
Resident sommelier Jessica and head chef Monday welcomed us and promised us an evening of pure indulgence.
There are only three menus available: 8-course menu (RM550+), 10-course menu (RM790+), and vegetarian menu (RM550+). You can add on wine pairing for RM250+ for four glasses or RM350+ for six glasses.
🍞Our 10 course dinner started with some freshly baked breads and bordier butter in 4 flavours: salted, truffle, pesto and sun dried tomato.
🖤Amuse Bouche and beef tartare with oscietre caviar and quail egg set the mood and kick things off to an epic dinner.
🖤We thoroughly enjoyed the cold capellini dish with fresh Hokkaido scallops in a kelp broth and covered with truffle shavings.
🖤Foie gras with ginger flower gel and chocolate soil is a perfect balance of hot and cold, sweet and savory.
🖤Coral trout with cauliflower purée, Korean black bean and lotus root chips reminded me of a chinese home cooked dish. I wished there were more gravy as the fish was a bit bland to taste.🖤Rougie duck breast was rich and tender, and make such a good pairing with endive, beetroot purée and sherry jus.
🖤Sher wagyu striploin mb9+ is definitely the highlight of the night. It was unbelievably tender, with intense flavour and mellifluous, melt in your mouth texture.
🖤It’s amazing that we can still stuff ourselves with more sweet treats! Desserts were a bit underwhelming because the mains stole the limelight.
🍷A big shout out to resident sommelier, Jessica for the remarkable wine pairing, some unconventional choices but we were pleasantly surprised at the combination.
