A sumptuous dim sum brunch on a Sunday is a real treat! If you are out to treat your friends and family to an exquisite feast, look no further than Wan Chun Ting @ Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara!
We love the selection here – from time-tested favourites such as siew mai and har gao to unique concoctions like deep fried prawn dumpling with salted egg yolk and cheese beancurd roll. There are always something for everyone! Even the tea selection is good!
Wan Chun Ting has four private dining rooms and an extensive fine dining menu that offers Cantonese and Imperial cuisine. The restaurant also stands out with its contemporary setting of plush interiors featuring Chinese elements such as lanterns and screens.
Our first dish is off menu because I asked the waitstaff if they have spinach tofu in the menu (weird cravings, I know) and without a doubt, he said no problem, this could be done. It was beyond delicious, the plain and simple tofu is elevated by the delicate and sweet taste of crab meat.
Trio Dim Sum Platter (Prawn Dumpling, Chicken Siew Mai, Cheese Beancurd Roll) RM 25
Deep Fried Beancurd Roll with Mozarella Cheese (RM 18)
I loved the crispy fried beancurd skin filled with some flavoursome prawn and oozing mozzarella cheese! Definitely something different!
Deep Fried Prawn Dumpling with Salted Egg Yolk (RM 18)
Wan Chun Ting caught the salted egg mania too! The salted egg yolk gave the prawn dumpling some creamy and salty bites, so good and so sinful!
Steamed Prawn Dumpling RM 18
Steamed using fresh whole shrimps, the prawn dumplings were so flavorful, juicy and crunchy.
Another plus point of dining here is patrons get to order from the ala-carte menu too! The double-boiled soup is so comforting and delicious – all the nutrients and flavours are “locked” in the soup.
Salted Egg Yolk Okra (RM 38)
I couldn’t believe that we finished the whole plate by ourselves. The salted egg yolk okra is dangerously addictive! It was hot, crunchy, shatteringly crisp crust and fried to golden-brown perfection.
Chilled Sea Coconut with Red Date and Aloe Vera (RM 15), Chilled Mango Puree served with Pomelo (RM 22)
No meal is complete without a sweet touch and a proper drink to wash it all down. The Chinese dessert selection is great and we can easily spot our favourites here – both were great and refreshing!
