Singing has always been one of our favourite go-to stress busters. When I’m alone in the car, I love to blast the radio and sing along to my favourite tunes. I caught KampungBoy singing in the shower on many occasions. Sometimes, we go for karaoke and we thought that it is not possible to go for one after the arrival of our baby. Thank god for extremely family-friendly venue such as The Ark Family Karaoke & Dining Bar @ Solaris Mont Kiara.
The Ark Family Karaoke & Dining Bar is located on the same row as 7-11 at Solaris Mont Kiara. It is owned by a Japanese husband and wife team. What sets them apart is the home style Japanese kitchen manned by the wife, Keiko, also a Japanese mother of two. Almost everything in the menu from home style Japanese food to authentic Western food are freshly prepared upon order, no frozen and instant food!
There are five rooms in The Ark Family Karaoke & Dining Bar and each room comes with a unique theme catered to different group of customers. For example, the largest room in The Ark comes with colour changing lights, plush leather seatings as well as high chairs.
They have two karaoke system in The Ark – Japanese system and local system. Their song catalogue includes everything from the latest hits to oldies, and even children’s songs for the little ones!
We were in the most family and baby/toddler room that comes with a ball pit (!!). Asher was busy entertaining himself while we sang.
The head charge per pax starts from RM13/hour, and it comes with 1 free drink such as cold brew coffee, homemade ginger ale, soft drinks, tea and etc. Patrons can order food from the iPad menu.
It is indeed a kids friendly karaoke place with free toys rental. Adults can have some fun with the mini golf, tambourine, poker card and dice rental too. All FOC!
We had some sparkling sake to start and the size is just right for four pax.
Cold cut platter in a karaoke room? Why not? Everything from the salami to the parma ham went well with a drink or two.
The mentaiko cheese stick is a crowd pleasing snack, so creamy and delicious!!
They also have Japanese Salad, Chicken Karaage, Italian sausages and many other dishes.
We loved the teriyaki chicken pizza too. The crust is light and crispy, with stretchy mozzarella, sweet yet tangy marinated chicken and sweet corns – so yummy!
Another dish that we would recommend is the Tarako Pasta. With a rich, creamy sauce that’s loaded with umami and al-dente noodles, this dish is restaurant standard!
Remember to try some Japanese cocktails while you are at it! Bright and citrusy, with the kick of alcohol, both Grapefruit Sour and Orange Cassis are enjoyable.
These are the published rates per pax. You get a free drink with the head charge, or you can upgrade your drinks option for only RM3/RM 5.
If you are coming in a group of 6 pax and above, this group promotion is value for money! That’s RM 30+ per pax with beer and delicious snacks!
The Ark is definitely a family friendly venue where parents can sing to their hearts’ content while their kids enjoy themselves! Another plus point is the great food and extensive beverages selection!
