#1 Ap Liu Street
Apliu Street Flea Market is a popular jumble of phone accessories, gadgets, electronics and trinkets. The selection is mind-blowing so it is best to know what you want to find before you go. Bargaining is also necessary.
#2 Toy Street
For toys and party goodies galore, head to Fuk Wing Street also known as the Toy Street. To get to Toy Street, all you do is leave Sham Shui Po MTR station by exit B2. It is a great place to look for plastic toys, party bags, small everyday toys such as balls, cars and stationeries.
#3 Cheung Sha Wan Fashion Street
Cheung Sha Wan Fashion Street reminds me of Wu Fen Pu in Taipei. It is fashion street where retailers come to get their supplies and designers visit for raw materials. There are more than 250 wholesale shops filling permanent spaces along the street. To get here, take MTR Sham Shui Po Station Exit C1.
#4 Doughnut
Doughnut is a local designer backpack label in Hong Kong. It started out in 2010 as a humble boutique in Sham Shui Po. The brand has since expanded and now has several stores around Hong Kong. Its cute backpacks and hipster-esque luggage come in countless colours and sizes and are perfect for any outdoor adventure or fashion statement.
I got my first stylish looking diaper bag from them too! The price ranges from HKD 300-600, very affordable for a Hong Kong design label.
#5 Wah Ngai Canvas
Red, white and blue-striped bag (humbalam) become synonymous with Hong Kong. Lee from Wai Ngai Canvas is hailed as “the father of red-white-blue” by the local press, as he was the original pioneer who came up with the idea of using the canvas to make travel bags—ones often used by Hong Kongers to transport necessities to their relatives on the mainland. The shop is located at Gr Floor, 212, Yee Kuk St, Sham Shui Po.
