One of our favourite buffet restaurants in town, Lemon Garden at Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur re-opened on the 27th of February 2017. The main restaurant of the hotel debuts a brand new look and a refreshed menu after undergoing renovation for the past four months. Designed by Bond Design Studio Inc from Japan, the interior of the restaurant is elegantly decked with modern and contemporary designs.
Lemon Garden has always been well known for its extensive buffet varieties – from Chinese, Italian, Indian, Thai, Malay to Japanese and Western. Apart from that, all the and tantalising international specialities are prepared a la minute.
The seafood station excites us the most, and we were here on a seafood night (every Friday and Saturday) evening so the seafood selection is a bit more than usual. There’s freshly shucked oysters, scallops, king crabs, squids, mussels, sushi, sashimi and prawns.
The Western theatre kitchen offers a wide selection of cheese, salads, roast beef, glazed lamb ribs and quiche.
I remembered that pizza is one of my favourite things to eat here and it is still as good! They were made the authentic way using a unique wood burning oven.
Pasta is perceived as a waste of stomach space but I just couldn’t resist! The pasta hotspot allows patrons to personalise pastas by choosing their own pasta style and sauce.
The Chinese station is famous for its unique selection of double boiled soups. It also features a noodles corner which serves a wide array of hot-off-the-stove noodles, exquisite selections of dim sum and other varieties of oriental specialities.
Seven types of double boiled soup were available that night and we managed to try two varieties. So nourishing and comforting to the stomach.
Mala Prawns is a an absolute must try here! The prawns were so sweet and succulent and the mala flavour is just perfect!
The stylishly designed dessert pavilion features a decadent display of local and international desserts such as the Coconut Pandan Hot Soufflé, ice kacang, waffles, crepes, chocolate fountains and an assortment of cakes, tarts and ice creams.
Durian cake is a must when you here. Highly recommended!
Durian ice cream, mango ice cream, lime sorbet, berries ice cream, cookies and cream ice cream…even the ice cream selection is good!
Buffet desserts are often lacklustre, but not in the case of Lemon Garden. Almost everything that we picked were delicious!
Chocolate fondue got a new facelift here 🙂
Remember to try their jack fruit cream puff too!
Lemon Garden is still the front runner when it comes to buffet restaurants in town. The quality and selection is truly impressive. Though, unquestionably, the pièce de résistance is the seafood station, where you can load up on mouth-watering fresh seafood and sashimis! We practically ate to our heart’s content on the seafood dinner night.
