Shinmapo, Korea’s No.1 BBQ Restaurant has just opened its doors in The Gardens Mall last month. With over 500 outlets worldwide, they must have done something right! Their first Malaysia outlet is located in SS15 Courtyard.
We looked through the menu, and found out that the pricing is pretty reasonable for a “mall” restaurant. For example, the Signature Set A (for 1-2 pax) that comes with pork skirt, pork belly, pork collar, mix grilled platter as well as army stew, refillable side dishes, and signature kimchi egg crust is priced at RM88. Signature Set B for 2-4 pax is priced at RM118. Signature Set A is more than enough to feed the two of us, of course patrons can also order additional ala carte item.

Service is really good too, as the wait staff will help patrons to cook the meat on the charcoal grill.

We had an additional order of spicy chicken (200g, RM 28).
It was really delicious and syok with the spicy kick, next time we shall order the Ultimate Set C (RM 98) as the set comes with spicy pork meat.
You can also order the cheese pot (RM25), and add it into the sides of the grilling pan. Once the cheese is melted, you can dip the grilled meat chunks into the oozing gooey cheese. So good!
Volcano Fried Rice (RM 33)
The fried rice portion is huge enough to feed 4-5 person! I love the fluffy and spicy fried rice that goes really well with the soft and creamy scrambled egg.
And we washed it all down with peach makgeolli. It is a must order for us, as the makgeolli is mildly sweet with an obvious peach hint. So easy to drink!
We really enjoyed our meal here – nice environment, good service, good food and reasonable pricing. What’s not to like? Remember to make reservation to avoid disappointment too!
