For as long as I can remember, I have dreamt about it. I say to myself that one day I want to be behind that beautiful Audi A3, or that incredibly luxurious BMW M3. However when that day finally comes where I can finally call it my own, I settle for something that is practical, fuel efficient and affordable. It is when I truly realize that I am officially an adult.
So this is a story about me and my first car, a Perodua Myvi. Five years down the road, I am still very happy with my little Myvi. They say love happens when you least expect it and it’s true! Initially I have set my eyes on imported cars because I thought that I will look cooler driving one!
However, I was beyond grateful to my parents who instil me the value of appreciating assets vs depreciating assets. You don’t need a fancy car, what you need is a reliable and fuel-efficient car that can bring you to places. That’s how I have decided on purchasing Perodua Myvi as my first car.
It has been utterly awesome and I look forward to driving now almost as much as I did when I first passed my test a long time ago. The car is wonderfully responsive and just so much fun. It’s great to take other people out in it and everyone, without exception, loves it too!
I’m so glad with my decision because over the years, it has not burdened me at all. We manage to have extra savings from the low installment cost, low maintenance cost, infrequent breakdowns and low repair costs
With the extra savings, we are able to travel the world to gain new perspective and experiences.
This car got me to and from home, work, and anywhere else I needed to be. It never gives me any big issue, except for the normal brake pad and tire replacement.

I need to attribute our blog’s success to our little Myvi as well. It took us on many jalan jalan cari makan road trips and food adventures, enabling us to share our travel and eating experiences on the blog.
It has been 11 years since the launch of the Perodua Myvi in May 2005. I’m pretty sure that whenever you are on the road, Myvi is one of the cars that you will spot the most. There are more than 900,000 units on the road right now. It is definitely one of the most well-loved car by Malaysians.
