Christmas Eve Dinner Menu @ Colonial Cafe, Majestic KL

Tis’ the season to be jolly, Fa la la la la, la la la…

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. It is even better when shared with families and friends. Whether you’re planning a Christmas party, intimate Christmas dinner or a romantic occasion for two; Colonial Cafe @  Majestic KL is an ideal location.

In conjunction with this joyous occasion, Majestic KL is also launching their first ever Majestic Christmas album with The Solianos. The Solianos are the only family in Malaysian show business who can claim a heritage of jazz that dates back into the nation’s history, thanks to Alfonso and Tony Soliano, who were living legends in their time.

I really love their versions of popular Christmas classics. It will be playing on loop on my CD player until Christmas.

We started our dinner with some warm and fuzzy mulled warm. Mulled with their secret recipe spices, it is definitely a great drink to kick start our awesome dinner.

Amuse Bouche – salmon, creme fraiche, fresh dill

Delicate smoked salmon combines with fresh flavours and refreshing crème fraiche and fresh dill, such a delight to our taste buds.

Starter – seared bay scallops, white asparagus and broad beans, paired with Huntaway Marlborough Sauvignonn Blanc New Zealand.

Scallops and asparagus are a terrific taste combo, and the white wine pairing in this simple and elegant dish really brings out the flavour.

Soup – Australian red onion soup with Gruyere toasts

The French onion soup is such a great winter warmer with so much flavours. And the rich and nutty-flavoured gruyere toasts top it off perfectly.

Main Course – roasted turkey with parsnip mashed, roasted root vegetables, stuffing and giblet gravy, paired with Sister’s Run Epiphany McLaren Vale Shiraz Australia.

The turkey meat is tender, moist and delicious. I really like the stuffing as it goes really well with the turkey. The giblet gravy is so full of wonderful flavours too.

Dessert – orange parfait with cinnamon crumble, grapefruit sherbet

The parfait is the perfect antidote to all the rich sweets of Christmas time. It works well as a light and healthy dessert, with great orange flavours.

The Christmas Eve dinner menu costs RM 280 nett per person (without wine) and RM 380 nett per person with wine pairing.
