Neroteca at Plaza Damansara, KL

We have always been a fan of Neroteca @ The Somerset Kuala Lumpur for its cozy ambiance, great food and attentive services. Recently, we visited Neroteca’s¬†Plaza Damansara outlet for the very first time. The overall ambience is charmingly dark with a mix of modern and industrial elements. I love the open kitchen concept as it allows me to see the cute Italian chefs at work, what a visually appealing sight ūüôā

We started off with some wines and Neroteca’s signature Aperitivi cocktails.
It was great to see a revamped menu. I have to admit that I felt a bit loss navigating through the menu (at first), as we have gotten used to the previous menu. We shared the Trota Oceania with Sicilian dressing. I love the home cured petunia trout with a very bold flavour and is delightfully firm.
I can never leave Neroteca without having a slice or two of their wood-fired oven pizza. The Speck & Gorgonzola Pizza is topped with a generous amount of tomato sauce, gorgonzola cheese, speck ham and mozzarella. So good, with a correct style thin crust and smoky flavour.
Now this is what I call a real Italian Ravioli made from scratch. I really enjoyed having the Raviolli di Ricotta e Spinaci Рricotta and spinach filled ravioli with fried on brown butter sage and parmesan. It was amazingly cheesy, creamy, comforting!

The Bistecca d’Amburgo – pork e toma cheese patty served on salad, topped with smoked bacon and fried egg paled in comparison to the amazing pizza and ravioli. It was nothing to shout about.

It came with a side of Neroteca relish and fried potatoes.

Our sweet ending came in the form of Millefoglie alla Crema. You must try this scrumptious treat of light, delicate pastry layered with chantilly cream and topped with strawberries.
