Baa, baa, black sheep, have you any wool? Yes sir, yes sir, 3 bags full!
One for the coffee, one for the food, and one for the great service! 3 Bags Full is a rather new cafe located in the ever congested Kota Damansara area. However, the good food alone is worth braving the traffic jam for.
It lives up to it’s name with a wooden like ambiance and a “barn” feel.
There are two sets of menu: brunch & lunch and dinner in 3 Bags Full. Since we were here for dinner, we tried a few main dishes from the the dinner menu and some light appetisers from the brunch & lunch menu.
Lavender Latte (RM12). The drink was perfectly smooth, naturally sweet and well mixed. The lavender flavour steep gently – its delicate scent and taste added an delicious overlay to the rich depth of coffee.
Mocha (RM 10). I can’t wait to indulge in this rich, chocolatey and luscious yumminess again!
We started off with a jellyfish salad with poached egg, avocado, almonds & sesame dressing (RM26). It was such a creative East meets West salad. The texture of the jellyfish was a fascinating cross between squid and al dente rice noodles. It’s an ideal contrast to the rich and creamy poached eggs as well as sliced avocados.
Doused with a generous amount of garlic infused buttermilk sauce, our appetiser of Sizzling Prawn Platter (RM26) reminds me of my favourite butter (nai you) prawns from Chiese restaurants. Lightly battered and fried until it is golden crispy, the prawns were succulent with a nice bounce.
Topped with a generous amount of chicken flosss – you can’t go wrong with butter-laden food and high-carb indulgence!
We also tried the French Toast Kebab (RM 17) from their brunch menu. The skewers were alternating fresh fruit, hams and Nutella laced French toast cubes, and topped with pepitas seed and a touch of the red wine reduction. The French toast cubes were browned and crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. I was hoping for more dressings or reductions then it will be a perfect dish!
Sheep in the House (RM 57), French cut lamb ribs marinated and roasted with minty herb crusts served with potatoes and a side salad.
The ribs were pork tender with a pink, juicy center. As I bit through golden, flavorful, crunchy crust on the lamb, I was yearning for more!
The Spaghetthi Aglio Olio Seafood (RM 28) though cooked al dente with all the right flavours, paled in comparison to the lamb ribs.
Crispy mochi waffle (RM 16) crowned with green tea gelato, beetroot sauce, pumpkin seeds, black sesame & almond biscotti. It was great – crispy-chewy on the outside, gooey on the inside, and so full of rich green tea flavours.
3 Bags Full is a small cafe where the owners have put a lot of thought into the interior design, the food and the coffee. Café hoppers will definitely find relief in this laid- back café boasting great coffee, awesome food and super friendly services.
