I had fond memories of eating at TGI Fridays, it is the first nice restaurant that KampungBoy took me to during our earlier dating days.
Since then, we have been going back to Friday’s occasionally for its generous portions, awesome services and some of our favourite items such as Buffalo Wings and Fridays Sundae.
We love TGI Fridays interior that is both hip and comfortably inviting too.
I had a sudden craving for TGI Fridays, and KampungBoy was busy working, so I asked BoboStephanie out for a dinner meet up. Our timing could not be anymore perfect because TGI Fridays is introducing a brand-new promotional offer that allows diners to enjoy an appetiser and two main courses at a great value of RM45.90++ in all participating outlets.
The Fridays’ Meal for Two allows us to choose one out of four appetisers and two main courses to from among the eight selections offered.
Why don’t we ask some of our fellow blogger friends and nuffies along, she said. Since we came in a big group, so we got to try all four appetizers that are available in the menu.
Bruschetta: grilled baguette slices brushed with olive oil, topped with marinated tomatoes, fresh basil and a balsamic glaze.
Chicken Fajitas Nachos: crispy tortilla chips piled high with marinated, charbroiled chicken breasts, grilled onions and green peppers. topped with melted Monterey Jack cheese and sliced jalapeno. Served with pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream.
Nacho Chili Roll: Bite sized flour tortilla rolls filled with cream cheese and spicy chili beef, topped with melted Colby cheese and fresh corn pico de gallo.
Loaded Mashed Potato Cakes — a flavourful combination of mashed potatoes, Colby and Parmesan cheeses, chopped beef bacon, caramelised onions rolled into a crispy cake, served with a horseradish cream.
For main course, we got to choose one each from the 8 selections. An American restaurant is nothing without its array of burgers. So I went for the Fridays Cheese Burger – chargrilled beef patty topped with melted Colby cheese, tomatoes, pickles, onions and shredded lettuce, served with crispy fries. It was huge and satisfying at the same time.
Bobo opted for the Cajun Fried Chicken Salad with crispy Cajun-battered chicken strips on mixed greens with tomatoes, a hard boiled egg and Monterey Jack cheese. It was really refreshing and delicious, especially when we helped ourselves with the honey mustard dressing.
Our friends ordered:
Hibachi Chicken Skewers. We were saying that this plate looked really happening because there were grilled all natural chicken breasts marinated in garlic-soy sauce with a miso glaze and served with fresh beans and broccoli blend and grilled pita. Such a wholesome meal with meat, carbs and greens.
Chili & Garlic Shrimp. I wished I ordered this! Stole one bite and it is totally my cup of tea/plate of pasta. There were plenty of plump shrimps sautéed with garlic, chili, fresh capers and diced tomatoes and the linguini was cooked al-dente.
Shrooms alert! Wild Mushroom Farfalle with a mix of fresh crimini, shiitake and button mushrooms sautéed with farfalle pasta is your dreams come true. Topped with arugula and fresh Parmesan in a roasted garlic broth, it is definitely a heaping serving of comfort.
Fish & Chips in T.G.I Friday’s is done right – crisp golden batter, fluffy chunky chips and creamy tartar sauce.
And to round off our gastronomic journey, we opted to add RM 10 and share a sweet treat – Fridays Sundae. It was a great indulgence with vanilla ice cream topped with hot fudge, caramel sauce, nuts and whipped cream.
My sweet date!
For RM 45.90++, TGI Fridays Meal for 2 promotion is such a great value for money. We get to share an appetiser and two main courses and the portion size is never compromised. So full *burp*
