I arrived to Vie Hotel after a long transfer journey from Gold Coast to Singapore and finally to Bangkok. By the time I checked in, KampungBoy and the rest of our gang were out sight-seeing (they arrived one day earlier). Fortunately, check in was prompt and efficient. The front desk staffs who clearly care for their guests’ needs knew that I have missed the breakfast buffet (until 10.30 am), so they offered to send me some simple food to cure my hunger pangs.
I fell in love with VIE Hotel, the moment I stepped into our room and saw this. Being sleep deprived and hungry, there’s nothing better than having a quick breakfast before taking a hot shower and forty winks. It seemed like a small gesture, but it made me feel special.
Vie Hotel has set the benchmark so high that I am now insatiable when it comes to a holiday in Bangkok. Another hotel that we really like is Muse Hotel, which is also a M Gallery Hotel. Location wise, the hotel’s surrounding is packed with restaurants and things to do.
It is also very close to the BTS station, Siam Square and major malls such as MBK, Platinum Mall and Siam Paragon. There is even a hotel tuk tuk transfer to the shopping malls. From Suvarnabhumi Airport, I took the Airport Rail Link to PhayaThai Station, then transfer to BTS Ratchathewi station, only 1 stop from Airport Rail Link PhayaThai Station. The hotel is right outside exit 2 of Ratchathewi station, making it very convenient for me to walk over with my trolley luggage.
Vie Hotel’s lobby is decidedly modern with a contemporary chic vibe.
VIE Lounge is a stylish venue. I love the colourful and creative lounge here, wouldn’t mind having a sip of aromatic coffees and teas while savoring some tasty light snacks and enticing desserts here.
We were staying at the Deluxe Suite, an upgrade from the Deluxe Room for three nights. Spanning across 76 to 81m² of living space, we have a separate living room, a bedroom and a shower room with separate bathtub.
Apart from that, there is a large working space, two flat screen TVs, electronic safe and beautiful Jim Thompson silk furnishings spotted across the suite.
Some of these little extras that really enhance our stay in Vie Hotel – welcome fruit platter and desserts. As you can see, the desserts were half gone as raided by KampungBoy.
The 81 square-metre space is flooded with natural light and the floor to ceiling window takes in the awe-inspiring views of Bangkok city.
The living hall is my favorite place to rest and relax. There is this big comfy sofas with gorgeous Jim Thompson thai silk cushions to lounge on. Vie Hotek’s Wireless Internet Hotspot worked perfectly fine, enabling me to do some work during my stay here.
Our suite is tastefully outfitted in traditional Thai elegance with contemporary chic modern design.
Behind these solid wooden doors is our sleeping space!
Both KampungBoy and I love the ultra comfortable bed with plush pillows and silky smooth bed linen! We slept like a baby every night. VIE Hotel offers an extensive pillow selection for hotel guest’s comfort for a good night’s sleep.
A selection of pillows is available from the Housekeeping upon request at no additional cost. Choose from ultra soft micro fiber pillow, ,classic standard latex pillow, contour pillow, buckwheat pillow and cervicalopedic pillow.
The day-bed by the window, overlooking the city view is designed for KampungBoy to either laze around or day-dream.
In the bathrooms, there were dual sinks, marble fixtures, large showers area and a large bath tub.
As the dust and grime of a day of sightseeing has gotten the best of me, I just can’t wait to retreat to our plush suite, turn on the hot water tap and unwind with a big handful of bath salts.
Complimentary toiletries are replenished daily here, sometimes even twice as Vie Hotel offers turn down services.
Thai hospitality at its best. On certain days, I found my clothes that was thrown all over the bed were nicely folded by the day bed. *blush*
VIE’s turn down services is impeccable. There’s weather forecast for tomorrow, room service menu for the next day, different types of cookies being offered daily, as well as ice bucket and wine glasses in case you feel like having a sip or two.
Of course, there’s also coffee maker with complimentary coffee capsules.
Of course, if you need anything else, remember to contact housekeeping. Nothing is too much of a trouble for them .
We were fortunate enough to be able to visit the Penthouse Suite measuring at 90 square metres. Decorated with dark woods, strong colours, and floor to ceiling windows, it includes a bedroom with paranomic view of Bangkok glittering sky, Bvlgari amenities in a separate shower room and bathtub, dining/working table, and a comfortable feel-at-home living room.
The Duplex Two Bedroom Suite with double height ceiling includes two bedrooms, Bvlgari amenities, stunning Thai art, silk from Jim Thompson, wooden floor, family dining table, pantry area with coffee machine, microwave, and a private butler service.
Even the Deluxe Room is so spacious with a high ceiling and floor-to-ceiling windows, and beautiful silk from Jim Thompson, it also includes wooden flooring, a day bed, large worktable, electronic safe and separate shower room and bathtub with VIE’s own bath amenities.
Hotel guests can keep fit at the hotel’s new fitness center, WE Signature Club!
It is a very impressive looking gym that comes equipped with the latest exercise equipment. Yoga, Tai Chi & Muay Thai are available.
VIE pool is definitely an oasis in the middle of the city. It is quiet most of the time, giving guests the opportunity to chill out, snack and enjoy drinks throughout the day until sunset.
La VIE is a French restaurant in VIE Hotel. Just like its name, it aptly represents the celebration of life’s quality enjoyments that VIE Hotel Bangkok is well known for.
I’m loving the “cocoon” chandelier in La Vie. Jim Thompson silk products were spotted almost everywhere in the restaurant too.
La Vie is also the venue for our daily buffet breakfast.
I wished we have time to try out VIE Hotel’s award winning Japanese restaurant – Yellow Tail Sushi Bar.
The restaurant’s extraordinarily skillful Master Sushi Chef serves only the finest cuts of his high quality and well-sourced ingredients.
We usually get tired of having the same breakfast two days in a row but VIE Hotel’s buffet breakfast had enough variation to keep us satisfied.
There’s fresh fruit juices…
Freshly baked breads and pastries…
Cheese platter, American breakfast, cold and hot appetizers…
Salad bar…
Cold cuts…
Artisan coffee…
Chinese offerings such as porridge and dim sum…
Authentic thai dishes such as pad thai and basil minced pork…
Desserts such as pancakes, waffles and fresh honeycomb…
The breakfast buffet included a great selection, giving us a great start for our day. Everyday, we wake up rested and look forward to the smell of coffee and a rich breakfast buffet.
Another nice touch was the hotel prepared a packed breakfast for us due to our very early departure to the airport.
Thank you Vie Hotel for the complimentary birthday cake, champagne and great staying experience.
Usually accommodation of this quality comes at a much higher price, but surprisingly VIE Hotel’s pricing is mid-range (or maybe Bangkok’s hotels are competitively priced). VIE Hotel is such a gem, with excellent individual suites, great breakfasts, great attention to details and friendly staffs. Definitely one of our best hotel stays in Bangkok to date!
