Desa Sri Hartamas is a treasure trove of marvelous restaurants. From Korean, Japanese and Chinese delights to Western cuisine, to an assortment of pubs and cafes, one is spoilt for choice with the many restaurants here.
However, there is one new kid on the block that shines. It is called Willow Tree and it is tucked away in a corner shop lot just a stone’s throw away from Souled Out.

Willow Tree may look like a watering hole from the outside. However, its menu features British classics and Mediteranean flavours as influenced by its Moroccan head chef Adi Elhadi who spent his earlier culinary years in London.

We were here to sample Willow Tree’s value for money Sunday roasts menu. For RM45++ (2 courses), diners get to enjoy a soup of the day and a succulent roast rib eye or roasted pork or New Zealand leg of lamb. You can also top up RM10 to enjoy special desserts from Willow Tree’s selection board.

We started off with a basket of home made cheese bread served with home-made butter and a mixture of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We appreciate home made breads in restaurants as the breads are usually fresh, warm and crusty. True enough, Willow Tree’s bread was delicious and enjoyable.

Our cream of pumpkin soup was creamy, velvety smooth and delicious with dollops of heavy cream. It was a great tummy warmer for me as I just recovered from a cold.

We chose two Sunday roast sets (roasted pork and roast rib eye) to be shared amongst the three of us. Missyblurkit was there with us and she said that the platter was such a great energy booster after her run that morning. The roasted pork was moist and flavourful, definitely not dry.

We could not find fault with the roast rib eye as the meat was cooked to perfection – soft, fork tender and flavourful after absorbing chef’s secret recipe sauce. The Yorkshire pudding was puffy and airy, and it absorbed loads of the gravy. Amazing!

We also tried Willow Tree’s brunch items such as egg benedict and coffee but it was nothing to shout about. The Sunday roast set is great value for money for its portion and food quality.
