The Good Batch @ Damansara Uptown is definitely a good catch in our opinion. It is right smacked in between a few car workshops at Damansara Uptown but that does not stop the brunch crowd. I was here on a Saturday afternoon together with a friend and most of the tables were occupied. The affable lady owner (I suppose) ushered us to a big communal table with bar stools. We had to share table with a few group of diners but we were fine with it. Plus, the lady owner sounded really nice and apologetic.
The space is great with reclaimed industrial vibe, dark ceilings, cemented floor, rustic wood tables and huge windows overlooking a busy road.
My order of Ice Mocha (RM 12) was certainly sweet, but actually retained decent coffee flavor. My friend’s hot chocolate (RM 9.00) was just passable, according to her.
I went for The Norwegian (RM 20.90) which is essentially egg benedict with smoked salmon. I love the great combination of perfectly poached eggs with smoked salmon, onion confit & capsicum, complemented by their house-made lemon hollandaise sauce on lightly toasted bread. The smoked salmon was thick and I like how the onion confit and capsicum added some mild sweet taste to it.
My friend’s Portobello Road (RM19.90) was equally outstanding. I stole a piece and was wowed by the crispy breaded and ultra juicy portobello mushrooms. It tasted even better together with some runny egg yolks, stir fried spinach and roasted tomatoes.
The Good Batch is officially my favourite brunch place after Antipodean Café. I can’t wait to try out more items from their menu!
