Is there any great food in which you wish you had discovered it sooner? Well, we do have one at the moment. It is a fried chicken rice stall located within 2 minutes drive from Segambut Yu Ai seafood noodles. It may be just a run down shack under a big, shady tree but it becomes our favourite lunch spot. I wouldn’t necessarily call it a “hidden gem,” but it is certainly off the radar of many people.
Ordering is straight forward here – just choose a favourite chicken part (whole leg, thigh, ribs or wings) to go with your oily rice. The fried chicken is served with a generous sprinkle of celery leaves and spring onions on top. The key to any great fried chicken is juicy, well seasoned meat encased in a light, crisp-tasty coating. We thought our order of fried chicken was cooked perfectly in every sense.
We noticed that the chickens were all being fried on the spot using fresh oil. It keeps the flavor light and gives the chicken a nice crispy crust without feeling greasy.
Their home made chili dip gave more kick to each bite. How I wish to store a huge container of the sauce inside my fridge!
