We were fortunate enough to be amongst the first to participate in such a meaningful workshop. We were also greeted by Royal Selangor International director Datin Paduka Chen Mun Kuen. She is affable, humble and enthusiastic about pewter. Her grandfather is none other than Yong Koon Seong, the founder of Royal Selangor.

In order to register for the jelly workshop, all one needs to do is to purchase the jelly mould created by British designer Nick Munro (RM 290) and sign up for the work shop as one make the purchase. RM100 will be donated to the Breast Cancer Welfare Association. The mountain-inspired conical jelly mould is an beautiful art piece by itself when it is not serving its function.

The jelly mould is also presented in a beautiful hot pink box. When opened up, there is a jelly recipes book with recipes ideas contributed by Emmanuel Stroobant, Ken Hoh, Yvan Cadiou, Jean Pierre Wybauw, and many more. It is definitely an art piece to keep and if it is for a good cause, why not?

To began with the jelly making workshop, we placed the jelly mould into a mug half filled with ice cubes. Then, we filled the mould with jelly liquid, layer by layer, until it reaches the rim.

ah this brings back memories.. I bought my very own Jelly Pewter and joined the workshop 2 years ago. Was kinda fun coz got to tour around the pewter museum, join the school of hard knocks to make my own pewter plate engraved with my name and then only workshop start! fun… ^___^ advise everyone to kill 3 birds at one go if they decide to go to this workshop.
