Previous: Seoul Itinerary Day 2: BBQ Dinner @ Wangbijib Restaurant, Myeongdong
It feels really great to meet up with local friends when one travels. After having a scrumptious BBQ dinner, noone felt like going home as we still have a lot of catching up/gossiping to do. Sipping a dessert wine, cordial or other after dinner drink while enjoying dessert is the perfect way to end the night, so we quickly found a cafe around Myeongdong.
Caffe Bene is a coffeehouse chain based in Seoul, South Korea. As the largest coffee house in South Korea, the cafe is basically everywhere.
My friends wanted us to try patbingsu, a popular shaved ice dessert topped with tteok (rice cake), almonds, red beans, cereals and peanut powder.
It is suppose to be a popular dessert for the summer, but it tasted equally good on a chilly spring weather.
The night was perfect; everyone enjoyed themselves and seemed reluctant to leave. It has been more than 5 years since we last met!
Someone suggested Insadong so we took a cab and stopped right in front of a random teahouse. There are many traditional Korean teahouses as such in Insadong. These enchanting places has a warm and quintessentially Korean setting. It is a great place to rest your weary feet over tea and Korean snacks.
We chose to have wine instead of tea as it fits the night better (?). =)
