”One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.” — Virginia Woolf
I couldn’t agree more, so does the same old folks who run Millesime. They brought together Petite Millie, a modern European casual dining place that is lighter on the wallet and bigger on the portion while maintaining the best of quality and services.
Petite Millie specialises in quality food, which is freshly prepared in the open kitchen. A great kitchen decoration, the chalkboard menu sribbles daily specials so guests know what’s for dinner.
The chic yet unpretentious warehouse-like interior of exposed brick walls and beautiful art works (available for sale) made us forget that we are dining at one of the busiest shopping centre in town.
Petite Millie’s simple one page menu features everything from starters, mains, small bites to desserts.
Juicy Dreams (strawberry, melon and lychee), Nuts for Nuts (hazelnut, macadamia, peanut butter), Leprechaun’s Brew (mocha and Irish cream flavour) – RM 14
Roasted Leek & Potato Veloute – RM12.50
It was smooth, creamy vegetable soup with chives, ricotta smoked fish tartare and avocado oil that’s full of flavour. I can make it into a meal with plenty of buttered breads.
“Tarte Flambee” – a thin dough covered with creme fraiche & delectable toppings
Petite Mille Signature “Tarting” Sandwich – simple yet unique piece of buttered country bread
In the Name of Charcuterie – RM22.50
We began with a simple rendition of Petite Millie’s signature tarting sandwiches – country bread topped with Chicken Pastrami, Lyonner Peppercorn, and Beef Pepperoni with Pickles on a bed of lettuce and smoked salmon slices. It is served along side with a healthy version of “fries” cut from the crispy edges of Tarte Flambee. So good!
Avocado and Crab…c’est une bonne vie! – RM19.50
Lathered with fragrant thyme, lemon oil, chive, crab meat salad with avocado; the tarte flambee was savoury, satisfying and addictive.
Iberian Beef Cecina – RM19.50
Topped with slices of air dried beef loin and capsicum concasee; the very thin base pastry was really addictive. I could just keep munching on it without feeling too bloated.
“Poutine” An idea from their Quebec Connection
I think poutine is the most genius creation on earth! Just imagine having chunky fries, grated chesse, homemade gravy and various toppings at one go! It’s ultimate comfort food in one dish!
Mille’s Poutinerie – RM22.50
Piquant lamb merquez sausage, goat cheese and fresh celery cooked to perfection. Give everything a good stir and enjoy!
Poutine Cheek… and its deadly – RM26
Now who can resist 6 hours braised beef cheek, freshly ground pepper and truffle oil? The beef cheek was so tender and soft, it literally melted in my mouth.
Emilia’s Tagliatelle al Duck Rage – RM28.50
It was wonderful! The pasta was cooked al dente and the duck meat was a real treat – cooked to perfection with a rosy pink hue.
County Side Hill’s Lamb Cutlets – RM45
Char broiled trio of cutlets with aubergine & lentil mash, this is an adaption from Millesime. They were bone-in chops, tender, juicy, and not gamey at all. I loved the hearty and healthy mix of lentil mash too.
White Truffle Oil Fish Pie – RM36.50
The magnificent white truffle oil baked fish pie with Shiitake mushroom.
The simple act of revealing the crispy pastry skin hit me with a strong whiff of truffle. It was god sent!
Mille Mascarpone – RM16
Creamy Italian style soft cheese with Manfredi coffee soaked sponge fingers. I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing this version of Tiramisu is – soft lady fingers soaked in strong coffee nestled in rich mascarpone cheese cream lightly dusted with dark cocoa.
Warm Dino’s Granny Smith Apple Crumble – RM16.90
Best served with vanilla ice cream!
Cinnamon Crusty Napolean – RM14.50
This refreshing frozen dessert features puff pastry layered with mango sherbets and served with seasonal fruit & berries. Great to cleanse one’s palate after such a hearty meal!
I told KampungBoy that my most memorable dining experience surprisingly happened on a regular Friday evening, at a shopping centre. It was also one of the rare occasions where I enjoyed everything being presented on the dining table. Head to Petite Millie to have a great meal, if you haven’t do so!
Petite Millie is running a good lunch promotion now-pick any tartine/poutine and get a complimentary soup/appetizer/dessert and an ice lemon tea. Available between 12pm-2pm on weekdays, excluding Public Holidays.

This place looks so goood and their apple crumble looks delicious! Definitely next on my list 🙂
Do give the poutine a try! I went to Petite Millie a few months back and its definitely worth it! Only thought would be that the fries might be a little crisper… http://picksandpecks.blogspot.com/2012/03/petite-millie.html
Speaking of fries, the ones at Carl’s Junior across from Petite Millie are quite good as well 😉
