Oktoberfest is the world’s largest celebration of beer and in recent years it is being widely celebrated and looked forward to by many, many people in Malaysia.
This year was my first time celebrating Oktoberfest and I went to the street party at Sid’s Pub, TTDI. The street party features a carnival, Oktoberfest games, oom-pah band and of course the obligatory bier (beer)! Let me tell you what I love about Oktoberfest:
The insane amount of liquid beer
There seems no end to the joy beer can bring to a man. Just give me anything from clear amber ales to pitch-dark stouts, and I’ll be the happiest girl on earth.
And the good news is……the street party features all-day happy hour promotion for GAB beers — Tiger, Heineken, Guinness, Kilkenny, Strongbow and Paulaner!
Entertainment, German music and dance
The organizer keeps the party going by providing all kind of entertainment and activities. They have a professional artist who draws a caricature of you and your friends.
he’s so talented!
We also get to feast our eyes with the sight of beautiful dancing Bavarian ambassadors. Originated in Bavaria in the nineteenth century, the oom-pah band is lively, colorful, and entertaining.
During Oktoberfest, customers can purchase a mug of 1 liter beer for RM 50 and get to bring home the limited edition Octoberfest mug. Look at Nuffnang Phillipines Country Manager, Carlos’ happy face!
Those who spend above RM200 on food would also receive a bucket of Tiger beer, on the house.
Customers can also pick GAB brews from retail outlets such as Mercato, Cold Storage, Village Grocer, Jaya Grocer, Tesco, Carrefour and Jusco to get price-off the six pack and carton purchase along with a free GAB Oktoberfest hat.
Happy and beautiful people
It is also an event where you won’t get tired from looking at all those happy, beautiful people. Apart from the pretty Bavarian ambassadors and beer maids, you’ll see bunch of happy guests indulging in beer!
with Jessicat and Huai Bin of sixthseal fame.
Gorgeous Tey Cindy. Together with KY, we are under Team Guinness, hence the black outfit.
What’s not to love about Oktoberfest? It is a genuinely fun event to go to.
