I still remember vividly that me and my cousins had a great time at Jack’s Place Singapore few years back. I never get to try them since their arrival in Malaysia because there is always other choices when it comes to dinner at One Utama.
<a onblur=”try {parent.desSo, I finally step my foot into this place. Jack’s Place mingles ambience to great applauses. It was bright, clean and cosy. Yellow lighting makes a perfect setting for ‘sexy’ food pictures.
I pay RM 6 extra for a soup of the day, coffee and dessert during dinner time. My brocolli and carrot soup tasted more like a MSG laden soup with teeny weeny bits of greens and oranges.
Munlin was craving for some juicy steak but she was too greedy to settle with just beef, so she opted for the mixed grill. (RM 30) You get a taste of everything: bacon, steak, lamb, chicken, sausage and sunny side up. The lamb was overcooked that she finds it hard to sink her tooth on it.
Chicken Mushroom Spaghetti (RM 14) that Lee Ping had was cooked to perfection. The spaghetti was tossed together with the creamy sauce and topped with some grilled chicken and musroom. She gave two thumbs up for her dish.
My boneless chicken (RM 18) was tender and juicy but the sauce was a bit bland that chilli sauce comes to handy here.
Yiquan had spring chicken with sambal sauce. (RM 22) No complain on this as it’s rare that spring chicken has dry texture right.
Since the food at Jack Place is affordable, we tried their set lunch the other day at Sunway Pyramid. It was Monday so the main course offered was NZ Sirloin Steak with Brown Sauce Topped with Onion Rings(RM18) and Grilled Boneless Chicken with Tangerine Sauce (RM 13.80). The Set lunch was inclusive of a soup of the day, main course, coffee/tea and dessert. It is valid from 11 am to 2.30 pm daily. You can choose to upgrade your meals too:
Add RM4.00 for Lobster Bisque
Add RM3.00 for Other Soup
Add RM3.00 to change the sauce of your main course
Add RM2.00 to upgrade normal coffee to freshly brewed coffee
No comments on the NZ Sirloin Steak because Yichang loves to have his steak well done (weirdo YC :p). Again the tangerine sauce was bland and I ate that with dollops of chilli sauce. Overall, the food here is just nothing fantastic, price is pretty reasonable and I love their attentive service at both outlets.

That’s a generous portion of chicken for the spaghetti
