Restoran Sin Kim Leng @ Jenjarom

We ventured into Banting/Jenjarum area last weekend. The ride was bumpy and it took us 45 minutes to reach here from Cyberjaya. Our tour guide recommended this place because the famous begger’s chicken in Banting requires booking one week in advance. It’s along the way to FGS Dong Zen Temple, Jenjarom.

Mantis Prawns in Gong Pou style. The fried mantis prawn flesh turned out soggy and it’s a bit hard to be chewed.

Salad crackers. They deep fried the mayonnaise with some crunchy batter. It’s surprisingly good and addictive!

Fried Calamari. It’s too salty for my liking and the batter is too hard.

Lala Soup. I like the soup being laden with cili padi and shredded ginger. The fresh lalas gives a hint of sweetness to the soup too.

Highlight of the day – Fried Bee Hoon with Crabs. The bee hoon stir fried with shredded garlic and dried shrimps is so aromatic that everyone drools. We struggle hard to finish 2 kgs of crabs and the gigantic plate of bee hoon after all the rice and dishes. Actually, the fried bee hoon with crabs is enough to feed the eight of us. Total bill comes about 131 for 8 person, which is pretty reasonable.
We arrived at Dong Zen Temple after the feast. The temple’s ground is washed away with lights, lanterns and flowers in conjunction with FGS Dong Zen Temple CNY Lantern and Floral Festival from 17/2 to 4/3.

Art lovers will fancy the art gallery, kids will be amused by various statues of Arhats and Bodhisattvas, Buddhists can perform prayers to Buddha at the main shrine.

There were two large white tents set up to house a vegetarian food and drink bazaar. Jenjarom folks set up some stalls selling souvenir and food opposite the monestary too.

It’s an event not to be missed! Make sure that you make the move to Jenjarum next year.

We were having so much fun taking pictures and walk around. It’s sad to say that we won’t be able to see each other so frequently in another 2 months time but I understand that friends drift apart because their live progress through different stages.I always appreciate how unique, blessed and special my life was to have friends like you guys. I’ll miss you guys so so so so much, including those that who are not the pictures.
