Bar BQ Plaza @ One Utama New Wing Revisited

Bar BQ Plaza is a franchise originated from Bangkok and they opened their first outlet in Malaysia at Lot 338a,1st Floor,Rainforest, 1 Utama Shopping Centre. For me it’s more like Korean Steamboat with 2 in 1 steamboat and grilling. So it’s a Thai restaurant which serves Korean Steamboat in Malaysia. Globalization is the IN thing now!
If you find this place new, read my older post for the step by step guide on how to cook your own food here.

Both of us ordered the set lunch (RM9.90) which is inclusive of drinks, garlic gried rice, chicken platter and beef/pork platter. It is a great steal and it really filled our stomach!

What make us keep coming back is their home made sauce! It goes well with the meat and rice and everything!

We love cam-whoring too! My picture folder is full with our vain pictures!

Kajang Satay Revisited and Thai Fair @ South City Plaza

I forgot whether this is my fifth or sixth visit to Kajang for Satays. Well, that is not so important, as long as I can remember my very FED UP visit this time. Still remember that I give very good review on Kajang Sate Hj Samuri for my past visit that my friend thought that I receive some form of compensation?
Initially, we planned to get into the shaded area because the outdoor area is kind of smoky and my housemate has asthma. However, they blocked us from entering because they just mop the floor and they doesnt want to repeat their work for second time. It’s only 9 pm ok?
One thing I couldn’t understand is why the owner hire so many workers with so little work for them around the place (Utilization of Human Resource is so important)? Most of them sit there doing nothing, smoking and flirting with some girls. Worst of all, they shifted their seats and stick their butt in front of us, stare at us from head to toe that we (the girls) have to swap places with the guys.

I ordered 20 chicken satays for take away. When I go down to collect my take aways, they give me 30 satays and sort of force me to pay for it. No way! I insisted that I wan 20 and I paid for it while swearing inside my heart.
They raised their price silently too. A chicken or beef satay costs rm 0.60 now and a lamb satay costs rm0.90.
Sorry for the poor quality of these pictures because I’m very noob in flashing my camera in very dark place. What kind of mode should I use instead of just ON the flash? You can refer to my previous post for some really nice pictures to get you drools.

We spotted Thai Fair again! We were too full after the Mexim Dim Sum so we share a bowl of Tom Yam. Satisfying

Above: Steamed tapioca cake, Udang Golong and Popiah

Thai Fair in South City Plaza will lasts until 1st of May. Their next stop will be at Amcorp Mall till 1st of June.

Thai Fair @ Ipoh Parade

I’m sure that you guys are pretty familiar with this Thai Fair thingy. It has been around for quite some time, and it shifted from malls to malls from time to time. The last time I spotted Thai Fair was at MV Megamall and Sunway Pyramid. Since it was around Ipoh the last weekend I went home, so I went with my sisters to have a taste of the tomyam soup that we love so much. Other than the famous tomyam, they have mango with sticky rice ( too sweet for my taste bud), fried shrimps and popiah (yummy!), kerabu (thai mango salad with fried squid), ice blended drinks and som tam.

Patrons can choose from yellow noodle, meehoon(rice vercimilli), kuey teow (flat noodle) and glass noodle for their noodle dish.

My salivary gland will secrete saliva each time I see or think of this! Do not let the colour of the tomyam soup deceive you ! They are spicy and it is only meant for those who are brave at heart! (I mean I’m kinda brave too)

Somtam is thai salad with shreded papaya and mango, crushed groundnuts, sesames and some sweet and sour sauce. Remember to ask them to spice down if you can’t bear spicy food.

Bar BQ Plaza @ One Utama New Wing

Love is in the air!~I’m pampered with gifts from friends and my loved one. KampungBoy refuses to let me reveal what he bought as V-pressie. It’s just something that i wanted to buy and i like so much!~ Thanks for lending your shoulder for me to lean on, your ears to listen to all my grumbles, your eyes to watch out for my clumpsiness and your soul for being with me through rain or shine. Happy Valentine’s Day!~

Bar BQ Plaza is a franchise originated from Bangkok and recently they opened their first outlet in Malaysia at Lot 338a,1st Floor,Rainforest, 1 Utama Shopping Centre. For me it’s more like Korean Steamboat with 2 in 1 steamboat and grilling. So it’s a Thai restaurant which serves Korean Steamboat in Malaysia. Globalization is the IN thing now!

Neither KampungBoy nor me fancy candlelit dinner where we are forced to order the pricey lovers set and dare not to move an inch because the waiters are staring at you. The most important thing is we hate long queues. So eventually we had chosen this new outlet to have our not-so-romantic valentine’s dinner.

The air ventilation is strong enough to make sure that the barbq smell won’t stay on you.

The step by step guide

Sauce Combination and the FATSSSSSS..Arghhhh Soooo Scary

Their home made sauce is EXCELLENT! Taste nutty, spicy, sweet, sour..? Undescribable

Gyoza – My all time favourite RM 5.50 for a plate of six

The dual combo RM 28

Thin slices of beef, pork and bacons..Tempting enough?

OK Let’s start with Step 1: Pour in the chicken stock clear soup

Step 2: Place the fats on the top of the round plate

Step 3: Add in the veges to add some sweetness to the soup and have fun BarBQing

Wrong Method: We rubbed the fats around the round plate just like butter. It shall be placed on top of it. The waiter told us that seafood must be dipped in the boiling soup before grilling to make sure that it is cooked.

Our leftovers – KampungBoy:”Girl a, cabbage very cheap meh?”

KampungBoy:”Come out also wana play masak-masak” (Shake his head)

Surprise surprise! Free desserts exclusively on V-Day! Mango Sago (RM4.50)

Leng Zhai with his HoneyDew Sago (RM4.50)

CityGal: “Must leave some good comment since they give us freebies!”

Happy Valentine’s Day!~ With Warmest Wishes from CityGal
