Kampungboy who was working in Shanghai last month managed to squeeze in some time to drop by the Shanghai Expo. Here’s some night pictures for your viewing pictures. Please pardon the picture quality as he was using our humble little point and shoot camera.

Will write more about tips and strategies to survive Shanghai Expo in my next post.

The China Pavilion has a distinctive roof, made of traditional dougong or brackets, which date back more than 2,000 years. Don’t bother to queue because the China Pavilion will remain open to public after the Expo.

The Malaysia Pavilion with the theme of One Malaysia, City Harmonious Living.

I know, I know, there have been a lot of talks of how dull and boring is the Malaysia Pavilion but I really like how the facade of the pavilion is made from a combination of recyclable materials of palm oil and plastic. Plus it is really beautiful at night!

The Pavilion of our neighbouring country, Singapore. With an “Urban Symphony” theme, do expect some unique rhythms and melodies in there.

The Philippines Pavilion carries the theme of Performing Cities. I love the transparent surface with beautiful visual effects of hands swaying.

The Cambodia Pavilion put alot of thoughts into incorporating the history of Angkor Period, Odong Period and Phnom-Penh Period into it’s exhibition.

Under the theme “Cities of Nature: Living between land and Sky”, the New Zealand Pavilion also bring us some Maori influences.

The Macau Pavilion was inspired by rabbit lanterns, which were popular in southern China in ancient times.

Lupu Bridge 卢浦大桥, located amidst the Shanghai Expo site .

A one-kilometer-long and 100-meter-wide walkway extends across the Expo site.

The Expo Axis consists of two underground and two above-ground levels and connects the major exhibition areas on the Shanghai Expo 2010 site and houses commercial, food catering, entertainment and exhibition service facilities.
