In this day and age, smartphones have changed the way we live our daily lives. How we navigate, how we organize our daily events, how we spend our time and how we connect with people is all undergoing a dramatic change. For me, the best thing about smartphones is the sheer fact that it helps us in managing our long distance relationship. KampungBoy is out of the country most of the time but we stay connected via emails, whatsapp, ping talk and talk box.
some of the pictures that we share with each other recently:

One of my favourite things to do in Hong Kong is to pop by one of the many dessert shops after a full, satisfying meal. Sweet soup/dessert after meal is a distinct culture that is deeply ingrained in Hong Kong people’s daily life. I tend to crave for desserts even at the most inopportune times in a day, sometimes I just wish that I can jump on the teleportation pad and bounce in to Hong Kong for some real authentic Hong Kong style desserts.

Until someone told me that I don’t have to do that. When the cravings hit, just go to My Honeymoon Dessert House that serves up some of the most authentic Hong Kong dessert specialties.

Lots of you have asked me before, “Citygal, how do you pack for your trip?” Well, packing for a trip can be challenging, but there are some travel essentials to include on any trip, regardless of destination.

For example, I always make sure that I bring along a pair of comfortable shoes, voltage converter, plug adapter, and of course my personal toiletries because keeping your skin fresh and hydrated when traveling is very important.

For example, during my recent trip to Hong Kong, I brought along my Olay White Radiance CeLlucent White Essence and White Cream. UV levels can still be high throughout the winter season, and to makes thing worst, the low humidity and strong winds causes chapped and dehydrated skin. So apart from my sun block, the Olay White Radiance skin care powered by CelLucent complex helps me in getting dual whitening action for natural, luminous fairness.

Once upon a time, there was a girl who lived in a city. She was so afraid to be exposed to the sun that she took all means of protection against the deathly ultraviolet ray.

For example, an awkward combination of can can hat, sun glasses and scarf. Not exactly fashionable but that’s the best that she can do.

She also refrained herself from enjoying all kinds of outdoor activities. She can only look from afar in envy while her friends are having fun.

One Sunday morning, I woke up with a pounding headache and a craving for prawn noodles. Felt too awful to apply anything on my face and to get change, I hopped onto the car in my most comfy 10 year old t-shirt and drove to Yong Len coffee shop at Taman Tun Dr Ismail.

I passed my Tupperware to the aunty who is manning the stall. Looking at me, she smiled and uttered “cute tupperware you have!”
I told her that I’m using my container from the BYO TaPau series, Tupperware’s latest eco-friendly innovation. She placed my rice vermicelli and yellow noodles on the Noodle Holder, it is indented at the side for easy and safe handling. The soup is then filled into the container before the noodle holder was being placed on top. Don’t worry about the hot soup part, because the container is made of safe, non-toxic material. And the best thing is, the perforation will keep my noodles moist by the steam released from the soup below.

As a working woman and a (vain) female blogger (ahem!!), I always try to put my best face forward. However, I’m not blessed with naturally good skin and have to work extra hard at keeping my skin in check.
Aside from the usual cleanse-tone-moisturise regime, extra care needs to be taken to target some specific skin problems that I have. My facial care also refers to more than just my face. It includes my neck, décolletage and eye areas. As sad as it sounds, these are often the first places signs of aging appear.

I found my jaw line!

I broke out really badly on my teenage days. And I mean it, badly. Cystic acne grew all over my face to the point that my guy friends were referring it to the “volcano eruption” surface. And I’m very oily and I felt disgusting all the time. No amount of blotting paper can help me well enough.
As I age, my skin condition becomes more stable with only some occasional breakouts. But it is also the time when I have to start trying to combat fine lines and freckles that slowly creep onto my face (urghh!). Don’t get me started on my turkey waddle too! Women are such busy creatures aren’t we?

So desperate times call for drastic measures. I bought in to all kinds of skin care products that yells “anti -aging”, “softening”, “whitening”, etc without knowing that kind of active ingredients are in there. If you have known me for a while you will know that I have bottles after bottles of skin care product laid untouched at my dressing table. Do these products ever work on me? Quite frankly, no. I think I have even considered clinical treatments such as laser brown spot removal but my facialist warned me against it. My skin will have to endure side effects like redness, drying and peeling.

Help! I can’t find my chin!
So where am I going with this? Well, recently I have become more and more interested in finding out what is in my skincare. I try to study the label and see how it would work on my skin. For example, Vitamin E is known for its antioxidant and moisturizing properties while citric acid is used to adjust the pH of products to prevent them from being too alkaline. You get my drift.

A drop dead gorgeous kitchen is like a dream come true for every aspiring Domestic Goddess out there.

Aspiring domestic goddess (ahem)
And in my home, the kitchen is my territory. I remembered how I decorate the kitchen to suit my tastes, how I keep all my gadgets and utensils in place, and how I filled up my spice rack with my favourite spices and seasoning.
When IKEA asked me to write about their kitchen, I almost shed a tear of joy! I’ve always been a big fan of IKEA. Everything I own in my apartment is from that place. Don’t believe? Let me show you some pictures!
