Passione Ristorante Italiano @ Sri Petaling, KL is a hidden gem that serves authentic pasta and pizza made in-house daily made by a young and talented Italian chef.
Chef Stefano, who hails from Abruzzo Italy is inspired by his family’s cooking while growing up. His menu stays true to the spirit of Italian cooking – mainly about simplicity; simple recipes, quality ingredients but big flavours.
Occupying two floors of a corner shop lot at the bustling Sri Petaling area, the restaurant is divided into a few spaces. Ground floor is a traditional Italian trattoria – a casual eatery with a homey ambience. The space also houses an enticing deli corner, a pizza bar and cocktail bar.
The elegant dining space upstairs is very spacious, suitable for couples and even big groups.
Fritteria (RM 20)
Stuffed rice ball with meat ragu, peas and mozzarella
Stuffed mini ravioli pizza dough with mozzarella and tomatoes
Stuffed tube pasta with ricotta and sautéed mushroom
We loved that delicious crunchy shell and cheese filled bites. So delicious!
Parmigiana di Melanzane (RM 25)
This eggplant casserole is a delicious classic Italian dish for any occasion. Layers of yummy, cheesy, saucy goodness is what you have – fried eggplant, fresh tomato sauce and spices, two cheeses, and fresh basil all baked together into a most delicious Sicilian dish.
Pizza Buffalo & Crudo (RM 45)
Wood-fired pizza is Passione’s specialty and we reckoned that it is a must try here. Along with classic Margherita pizzas, be sure to check out other flavours too. Love the the charred parts and the smoky flavor of the thin crust, so good!
Wild Boar Tagliatelle (RM 35)
Chef Stefano insisted on making fresh pasta and scratch so the result is perfectly al dente tagliatelle. The noodles, and the various flavors of herbs, boar, mushroom, pasta and cheese harmonize beautifully.
Stracetti di Pluma Iberico Al Balsamico (RM 79)
Ibero pork marinated in plum sauce, served with arugula salad and Grana Padano cheese shavings. The meat flavor is not salty and is sweet-tasting, perfect with a refreshing salad by the side.
Tiramisu (RM 24)
This tiramisu is absolute heaven! Made the classic Italian way, with mascarpone, espresso, and chocolate. So fluffy, creamy, and full of rich flavor!
