Brunch: It’s everyone’s favorite weekend activity. What better way to spend some weekend-morning downtime than over a shared brunch with friends? Even better when the restaurant has a dedicated French-themed Sunday brunch menu complete with wines.
From only RM 148++ with free flow soft drinks and chilled juices, the 6 course Sunday brunch menu at Maison Francaise is great value for money. The in-house smoked salmon salad with fennel & tonka bean mayonnaise was beyond excellence. I’m always a fan of MF’s in-house smoked salmon – it has the perfect balance of flavour and texture.
The Velvety Pumpkin Soup with Chestnuts is one of the best that I’ve ever had! The chestnuts lend the soup a rounded nutty flavour and give it a wonderful velvety texture.
Scrambled Eggs with Brie Cheese. The eggs turn out to be perfectly cooked — not dry, not too wet and wend really well with the toasted brioche and brie cheese cracker.
Salmon with Barley Risotto. Pan-seared to perfection, the salmon has crispy skin, moist and tender flesh, and fat that has been fully rendered. So, so good!
MF is very generous with the portion. I couldn’t finish the Duck Confit with Lentils and had to doggy bag home some (made duck confit sandwich and it was so good). Love the meltingly tender, moist, and extremely flavorful meat but it was a little too salty for my likings.
Our sweet ending is a Gingerbread Spice Creme Brûlée. It won our hearts with the creamy decadence and unique gingerbread flavor.
The French sure know how to embrace la joie de vivre, even at brunch. We would highly recommend the Sunday Brunch at Maison Francaise for excellent food quality and good value for money.
