RM 25 for a wholesome meal that comes with an appetiser platter and dessert at the pristine address of Starhill Gallery – sounds too good to be true?
Pak Loh Chiu Chow restaurant at Feast Village recently introduced the Chiu Chow Express Lunch for only RM 25 nett. Curated by Hong Kong-born Executive Chinese Chef Alex Au, the express lunch menu consists of 25 mouthwatering rice and noodle dishes that uses only the best quality ingredients.
Popularly known as the ‘golden sister’ of the renowned Pak Loh Chiu Chow restaurant in Hong Kong, Pak Loh Chiu Chow in Feast Village Starhill Gallery is famous for serving signature and authentic Chiu Chow dishes. Hence, I was delighted to see Slow-Braised Goose Rice and Oyster Rice Porridge with Minced Pork in the menu.
Other notable dishes are the Braised Pork Belly with Preserved Moi Choy Rice. The pork belly pieces were braised to perfection with great flavour.
Even the chicken rice here uses no ordinary chicken; but “ching yuen” chicken from China. It was less fatty but more flavourful.
Braised Sweet & Sour Sparerib Rice – can’t go wrong with this. Coated in a super delicious sweet and sour glazing, the spareribs were fork tender.
HK Style Braised Beef Brisket Noodles – my other perennial favourite other than the Slow-Braised Goose Rice. You must trust the hongkonger when it comes to braised beef brisket. The gelatinous tendons were cooked to soft, melt in your mouth perfection, and the multitude of flavours was amazing!
