Banana Leaf Waffle V2.0 @ RM24.90
The fabulous baker boys did it again! Alex and Kenny who started as a humble home baker, creating decadent French desserts and customised cakes now has a brick-and-mortar store!
Foret Blanc Patisserie is created upon their follower’s request, so that they can enjoy FB’s sweet offerings on the spot.
One of their most popular creation is the Banana Leaf Waffle and they have recently introduced a version 2.0. Consisting of vade waffle, tomato chutney, mint chutney, yogurt ta-yir sauce, mango curry chantilly with mango cubes and chopped chili, their homemade coconut ice cream with toasted coconut and Balsamic rice cracker; it requires laborious effort and time (20 minutes) to assemble this.
FB has ingeniously incorporated some authentic Indian flavours through the chutney, ta-hir sauce and mango curry chantilly. Love the contrasting flavours and textures, as well as that spicy kick, followed by some soothing icy cold coconut ice cream.
Yuzu Garden (RM 23.50)
Homemade yuzu ice-cream, yuzu creme brûlée, passion fruit ginger jelly, green tea sable, green tea microwave sponge, yogurt honey sauce, coulis, edible flower garnish – what a a harmonious arrangement of elements. This light refreshing dessert adds a delicious finish to any meal.
Happy Polar (RM 24.50)
Consisting of Yogurt Lime Ice Cream, Lime Ginger Soufflé with Rum, Lime Curd, Mint Crystal, Polar Bear Macaron, Lime Marshmallow, Lime Jelly; Happy Polar is another refreshing creation with great sweet and tangy flavours.
The flavour was one of the best ice creams I have had. It is buttery and nutty. Like nothing else I have ever tried before.
We were told that FB is in the process of expanding their menu, so a revisit is definitely in the card. Forêt Blanc Patisserie also sells French cake slices and macarons, as well as takes orders for customised cakes.
New Menu in November 2017:
Goji berries butter cake with home made chrysanthemum ice cream (RM 13)
Hojicha Yuzu Creme Brûlée (RM 20)
Traditional Kopitiam “Breakfast Set”
We love this creative rendition of a traditional Malaysian breakfast set. For “toast”, we have the waffle with home made kaya, butter milk crumbs, topped with teh tarik ice cream with nestum. For “coffee”, it is a ham and cheese souffle served in a coffee cup.
The half boiled egg looks really real too! It is actually coconut mousse with passion mango liquid and gula malacca drizzle.
