If Maison Francaise is the charming and sophisticated big sister, then 2OX is like a fun and energetic little sister. Both MF and 2OX are our favourite places to enjoy French cooking, cocktails & wines. But yet, they differ so much in terms of character, ambience and cuisine style.
We were to sample Chef Florent’s new menu. Chef has had many years of experience preparing French cuisine for prestigious French restaurants in South Korea. So we were really excited to see what’s in store for us, and we were not disappointed.
For dinner, patrons get to choose from the menu to make up for a 3-Course Menu for RM88++ or RM120++ per pax for 1 Starter, 1 Main Dish & 1 Dessert (drinks excluded).
Roasted Beetroot salad with Fourme d’Ambert cheese, green apple, candied walnuts. At one glance, I thought we were going to have beef carpaccio – just look at the beautiful “marbling”. However, the roasted beetroot salad was equally satisfying. I love the sweet flavour complemented so well by the cheese and candied walnuts.
The warm beef salad with lentils and fennel topped with horseradish cream is a simple dish but bursting with so much flavour! I love the nutty flavours of the lentil and the beef slices were cooked just right.
Butternut squash barley pearl risotto with squid and spicy chicken sausage was creamy and cheesy, so comforting to the stomach. However, my chinese palette preferred the risotto to be softer with less chew. It’s just me though.
The lemon tart looked really plain but trust me, it was really good! Such a zesty, lemony light but very indulgent tart!
2OX is also having an upcoming Christmas & New Year Menu at RM180++ for Lunch & Dinner. Reserve your seats now!
