Gourmet Definition is owned by a friend’s friend, and she ensures us that the restaurant uses only the freshest ingredients and we need to give it a try. We take our friend’s words seriously, as she is a serious foodie herself.
We found ourselves here on a Sunday afternoon, together with KY and Haze. I like the clean and modern interior, solid marble table and air-conditioned environment.
for those who face difficulties ordering, Gourmet Definition’s set menu is god sent. We shared a deluxe set menu A for 4 pax (RM 238).
Signature Ling Zhi premium drink (part of the set)
Signature Chicken Wings (ala carte)
We also had some chicken wings to start. It had all the right flavours, really finger licking good.
We had a yuan yong pot of preserved egg and parsley soup + spicy soup (ala carte). I love the preserved egg soup base, it is a must order whenever I am having hotpot in Hong Kong. SO glad that now we can have the same soup base in Malaysia!
Deluxe Set Menu A came with the following items:
signature golden soup or heat reducing preserved egg & parsley soup
King’s water prawn (4 pcs)
sliced pork
handmade three treasure meatballs (fish, pork, octopus, 4 pcs each)
tiger prawns (4 pcs)
sliced grouper (8 pcs)
Hokkaido scallop (4 pcs)
green mussels (4 pcs)
deep fried fish maw
golden crispy beancurd skin
stuffed beancurd puff & brinjal
signature chicken wings (4 pcs)
high-fiber organic green platter
Japanese udon, vermicelli, fresh eggs
free signature Ling-zhi premium drinks (1 jug)
I love the food presentation here. Everything looked so proper and well presented.
The huge tiger prawns were really fresh, with springy and firm flesh and full with red roes. Very syok!
golden crispy beancurd skin and stuffed beancurd & brinjal
Village Fragrant Rice
Our stomachs were on the verge of exploding, but the friendly owner told us that we must have this village fragrant rice. We finished everything!!
The XL sized fresh oysters were divine! I liked the creamy sweetness of a super plump oyster!
If you are looking for a good steamboat experience, Gourmet Definition is the place to go. I love the ambiance, their fresh ingredients, attentive services (they kept changing our plates) and clean tasting soup base.
