Manmaru Robatayaki & Bar @ Atria Shopping Gallery is a contemporary modern Japanese restaurant that combines many concepts such as Robatayaki, Japanese Bar and Omakase under one roof.
Like most Japanese cocktails, the cocktails in Manmaru are subtle and scented with unique presentation. The emphasis on presentation also extends to garnishes.
Apple Gravity Beer – RM28
Smokey Honey land – RM28
Smoked & Plum Galaxy – RM39
Hanakotoba – RM30
Spring Peach – RM25
Manmaru also specialises in OMAKASE MENU (Chef Recommendation Course). Omakase literally means “leave it to the chef”. This is the ultimate dining experience in most of the Japanese restaurant. One may select from a 5 course menu (RM180 per pax) or a 7 course menu (RM280 per pax). I consider the pricing to be very reasonable, given the great quality of food.
Course #1: Appetizer Platter with yuzu, unagi karaage, tofu, corn and rice ball.
Course #2: Assorted Sashimi
Course #3: Wagyu Beef
Course #4, #5, #6, #7: Foie Gras, Grilled Fish, Japanese Noodles and Coconut Ice Cream
We had a remarkable omakase meal. Every course was so meticulously plated and so gorgeous. The flavours were amazing that we were planning for a revisit while having our food.
We also tried a few aka-carte dishes such as the Unagi Karaage – RM40.
Momotaro Salada – RM18
The Japanese tomato stuffed with crab mayo was really, really delicious.
Foie Gras Chawan Mushi – RM30
If you come without ordering a foie gras egg custard all for yourself you are crazy. It might be the most delicious thing I have ever eaten.
I love the assorted skewers combination. Everything was perfectly grilled!
Ikura Chawan Mushi – RM28
Look at the sheer size of the ikura! Each orb bursts with a satisfying pop inside my mouth.
This is the prettiest chawan mushi that I have ever seen! It looks like a piece of art and tastes so good at the same time.
7 types of Sashimi – RM180
This delightfully simple yet elegant Japanese delicacy consists purely of very fresh, raw fish with thick cut!
Salmon Lover – RM68
Heaven for salmon lover! Salmon sashimi, salmon nigri, salmon maki & Ikura Gunkan all in one plate.
Coral Bash Salada – RM18
The creamy and velvety smooth potato salad was so delicious! We were all in awe with the beautiful presentation that resembles crab walking on a bed of coral.
President’s Roll – RM78
This plump and delicious makimono made up of Toro, Foie Gras, Wagyu, Crabmeat, Prawn & Chicken Floss is a clever play of textures and flavours.
The deep fried prawn ball with spicy mango puree is indeed a treasure. Love the firm and bouncy bite of the prawn balls
Wafu Spaghetti – RM48
The waft spaghtti is braised with flower crab & assorted seafood. The pasta has absorbed all the briny flavours from the ocean. So good!
Lobster Roll – RM88
Need I say more? Lobster makimono topped with mango slices and a generous amount if ikuro is pure bliss in every bite.
Goshiki Kaki Tofu – RM24
The deep fried beancurd topped with dancing bonito flakes and sautéed oysters is bursting with juice as I bite into it.
Salmon Ikura Millefeuille – RM45
A tartare of salmon and roe topped with caviar is sitting on a pool of wasabi cream sauce.
SO delicious when eaten with the crispy crackers!
With great varieties of food and drinks, Manmaru is indeed a Japanese restaurant suitable for all occasions – whether to splurge on an omakase meal or just a casual dinner with bento sets.
