Remember the GUINNESS Amplify Live Tour at The Bee, Publika that both KampungBoy and I went to?
We had so much fun and enjoyed incredible music from the talented, dedicated, and passionate artists such as Paperplane Pursuit and Kyoto Protocal. Howie Day made a special appearance towards the end of the night too!
To reiterate, GUINNESS Amplify: Music Made of More campaign is a brand new music platform from Guinness. We just have to be a part of the finale show! Guinness Amplify campaign finished on a high note with a huge turnout at KL Live. I love the ultra cool stage set up at KL Live!
Guinness Amplify: Music Made of More has been touring Peninsular Malaysia for the past seven weeks, bringing together some of the very best artists Malaysia has to offer in a showcase of the passion, talent, and dedication that our local musicians possess. It is a free admission event and music fans from Klang Valley, Johor, Penang and KL got to enjoy free music that is Made of More.
We dated BoboStephanie and Jo for the finale show. Double date is better than the two of us right? Good music is meant to be shared.
The concert heat was on full swelter and there’s nothing more timely than a cold pint of my favourite black brew!
The finale show kicked off with local electropop heroes Dash! The high energy beat and vibe got everyone pumped up, knees bopping and walls pounding! They blasted out some of their biggest hits including fan favourites ‘If I Don’t Stay’ and ‘Overrated Understatement’.
Next up was musical maestro OJ Law, who treated the audience to the unique styling of his ‘Banana Indie Soulrocktronica’. They are no strangers to the fans of local indiepop scene. I love their style, especially on how they gave their crowd-pleasing current hit ‘Tongue Tied’ some retro twists. The MTV was really cute and funny too!
Are you ready to get “rude” with MAGIC!? These Canadian boys took the stage to the screams of thousands of music fans eager to catch the band in their first ever performance in Malaysia!
The band’s fresh, up-beat Reggae-inspired riffs had music fans raising their glasses of GUINNESS in the air in appreciation.
It was such a perfect ending to the Guinness Amplify: Music Made of More finale show! It is a very different music event that we have ever been to. It opened our eyes to some of our very talented local bands and musicians. We can’t wait for next year’s event already!
