As a frequent visitor to Bangkok, I enjoy staying at different hotels around the city. During our recent trip to Bangkok, Hotel Muse leaves a deep impression on us. Hotel Muse is a boutique hotel located in the distinguished residential area of Langsuan, just a stone’s throw away from the Siam, Sukhumvit and Silom area. It is a unique design hotel that combines Rama V era of elegance and contemporary, with a playful twist.
Hotel Muse’s location is impeccable. There are many restaurants and cafes near the hotel. Look out for one of the most beautiful Starbucks in Bangkok, and King Kong yakiniku restaurant along the road. Bangkok’s street food is not to be missed along Soi Langsuan. During weekdays, in the morning, working crowd flock to the street to buy some of the freshest snacks and noodle dishes. There are at least 4-5 massage and spa centers near the hotel which we visited at night. We slept like a baby right after our treatment.
The Ploenchit, Chitlom or Lumpini BTS station is a short stroll away and most of Bangkok’s major malls such as Central World, MBK, Siam Paragon are within easy reach. Hotel guests can go early in the morning to make offerings at the Erawan. The hotel also provide shuttle service to the Chidlom BTS station.
The hotel’s design is dedicated to the golden age of travel and the most opulent of art and design. It is inspired by the social and artistic milieu of 21st century Europe and King Rama V-era Thailand in the 19th-century.
Excerpt from the hotel’s website:
The late 19th- and early 20th-century period was indeed a golden age for Thailand, a time of opening up and looking out, of engaging the wider world with an impassioned and resolutely independent turn of mind. So too was it in Europe, as the years saw the birth of luxury travel on glamorous trains and magnificent ships. In such a spirit, Hotel Muse blends the heritages of East and West, the styles of Siam and France, into a beguiling melange of timeless sophistication and unequivocal modernity.
The dark and ambient lobby with huge floral display is a welcoming sight.
One corner of the main lobby is completed with lighting fixtures and a wall featuring black and white photos from the past. Just love all the details in the deco which were obviously done with great thought and care.
Hotel Muse also offer complimentary Macbook Air and printer usage for their hotel guests. Such a nice gesture.
Every corners of the hotel is so instagram worthy!
The whole hotel feels like The Great Gatsby scene comes alive with those customized wrought iron, soaring corniced ceilings and opulent oriental rugs. But hey, where is my Leanardo diCaprio?
We were ushered through the inviting lobby and seated in a plush leather chair. We also enjoy having these candy-coloured shooters with great flavours.
Our hotel front desk personnel were helpful, friendly and accommodating
The check-in was smooth and fast, we took the antique European elevator with bronze grill and artwork in the center panel to level 17.
I like how every floor is seen with different art decorations such as this “wall of frames” at level 17.
This artsy combination of vintage, colonial time hat at level 10 really caught my eyes.
Welcome to room 1708!
Our room is the Dowadueng Corner Deluxe. Sitting on a 39 square metre space, this lavish room is very spacious for the two of us. The room is located at the building’s corner for expansive dual-aspect window views, while a large bathroom window allows for dramatic vistas.
The immaculate room is beautiful inside out; with signs of old Siam such as vintage leather cigar couches, intricately designed ceilings, and mirrors and gilded picture frames throughout.
We really appreciate the ultra comfortable king size bed that make us want to sleep until the next day. We love the quality bed linen too – so soft and comfortable!
The room was dim and modern, with small elegant touches which contribute greatly to the atmosphere.
I like this vintage looking luggage/chest of drawers!
It’s always the little things that make an experience special –coffee maker and coffee capsules for us to get an immediate coffee fix. We also make full use of the uber cool digital stereo system with iPod dock which delivers clear, concise in-room sound from our playlists.
Every business travel friendly hotel room features a well-lit work desk, Hotel Quote is no exception. Not to forget the quintessential ADSL and wireless Internet.
As a female, I really love the spacious and beautiful bathroom!
The bathroom features claw-foot roll-top bathtubs with separate shower, hand-painted basins, Venetian mirrors and marble floors.
These luxurious Muse brand of toiletries and bath salt with lovely scents make our bathing experience so enjoyable!
Hotel Muse is a real unique and stylish hotel. There really is nothing to pick fault with. The rooms were excellent with sophisticated yet unpretentious interior. The hotel staffs were extremely helpful, the location is perfect. There was everything we needed and lots of little touches to make us feel like home.
Next, we will blog about The Speakeasy Bar located at level 24,25 and the Su Tha Ros Thai fine dining restaurant in Hotel Muse.
