After spending a wonderful holiday in Europe, we felt blue and found it difficult to function normally in our daily rhythm. So in order to deal with those post holiday syndrome, we went for a second honeymoon at Philea Resort & Spa Melaka. I’ve heard so much and seen so much pictures of this beautiful resort prior to this. I thought I would have my expectations set but when we arrived to the resort, I was blown away!
Philea Resort is the largest log resort in Malaysia. Situated just minutes away from the Ayer Keroh toll, it is a pristine and quiet enclave away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I also like how it was built with recycled natural resources such as old railway sleepers for staircases, marble as block fencing and shipwreck remains as furniture in the lobby. Impressive!
Our room key came with wifi passcode and a detailed map for our perusal, which is a very nice touch.
We stayed at Philea Suite for a night. With their rustic charm and abundance use of natural wood, these log cabins tend to have a cozy and inviting feel. “Are we back to Europe already?”, I asked KampungBoy.
Our suite was fantastic and spacious at 45.5 square meter. We also love the high ceiling and the warm lighting. It looked just like those log cabins set right in amongst the Alps and covered in snow! Now where is the fire place?
There were also some light hints of pine wood smell in the room. It was really soothing, just like aromatherapy scent.
We saw rose petals scattered throughout the room with a pair of love birds folded out of towels. Too cute!
I love the huge bathroom with luxury bath facility. There’s also two basins for him and her, so yay there’s no need to fight in the morning!
The victorian style bath tub was a really nice luxurious touch too. I enjoy soaking on warm water while watching my favorite TV show in the bathroom. Bliss!
We took a stroll around the grounds, and they were equally gorgeous. More than 3000 trees were planted within the resort to conserve and restore the natural resources. The walk from certain rooms to the lobby could be a long trek, however golf cart ride is always available upon guest’s request.
I like how the whole resort is designed. Some of the log cabins are located at the higher ground, overlooking the lush greeneries while those at the lower ground is set by the pool. Both are unique in their own way.
Philea Resort has a huge and nice pool with a man made waterfall setting.
Water sports activities are also available here.
Other recreational activities include pool tables, board games, congkak and mini dart boards.
We had the privilege to experience Philea Resort’s Birthday Bash Party as we had a few December babies staying on board that day.
It is being held at the restaurant by the pool side! Love how the resort staff set up the whole place too!
Surprise birthday cake and birthday song session!
The spread was simple but delicious. There were canapés, pizzas, salad, hot food and desserts available.
Everyone loves the hot food section. The pasta, char kuey teow, mee mamak, etc were made to order! Apparently as part of the Birthday Bash Party package, the birthday boy/girl will get a night of complimentary stay at the suite by the pool.
We were here to experience Philea Resort’s new honeymoon package. Themed “Love is in the Air”, the romantic holiday aims to create an unmatched setting that will turn any couple’s romantic outing into a memorable event.
Part of the package was a romantic candle-lit dinner will be served in the privacy of our own suite. Little did we know that it was an indulgence for all our five senses!
First of all, a personal butler was assigned to our suite. Then each dish was presented in different formations and with different music playing in the background. We were really happy because it is really a dining under the stars experience for us.
Our three courses meal was decent but nothing to shout about. However, the spectacular experience makes up for it.
Do not leave Philea Resort without trying a glass or two special blends from their juice bar. The apple and celery combination rocks! Philea Resort is definitely a perfect retreat for honeymooners, families and city dwellers seeking time out, a ‘home away from home’ in which to relax and unwind from all pressures.
