Pastry Ville is a new addition to Plaza Damas and is quickly becoming a local favorite here. I must admit that both my brunch partner and I were attracted to its name before deciding to push through the heavy glass doors and peep inside.

We were also being attracted to its excellent array of pastries and desserts on display.

The cafe interior is a blend of modern chic and down-home rustic; as seen from the black and white colour theme, exposed brick walls, bulb chandelier and unique quotes posters adorning the walls.

We were there on a Sunday afternoon and there were quite a lot of customers.

We started off with some freshly baked all-butter croissant topped with roasted almond flakes (RM 2.50). The tender buttery layers make the croissant so flaky and decadent.

The friendly owner recommended us one of their best seller – Maple Pillows (RM 3.80). It looked like little pillows but we were not too impressed by its dense and doughy texture.

I love a classic margherita pizza (RM 4), so this freshly toasted margarita bread fitted the bill. It had all my favorite combination of ingredients all on one heaping pile of dough and tasted crazy delicious!

The cakes and other desserts looked lovely in the display glass. According to Pastry Ville’s staff, all of their gourmet desserts are created in small batches by hand.

We ordered the Arabica (RM 12.90) cake to share. It’s a little cake/mousse layered dessert which consists of coffee chocolate, vanilla praline mousse with a surprise crunch of hazelnut feuilletine in the middle. The pastry shell is hard enough to have a bit of a crunch yet supple enough to melt in your mouth. The mousse was so delicate but still packed a punch.

Hazelnut Latte (RM 9.90)

With decent coffee and good selection of pastries, desserts and bread; Pastry Ville is a great place for a leisure afternoon tea. With coffee and good pastries around; not to mention, a book or a magazine too!
