A Long Weekend in Phuket – Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort

I flew to Phuket over the weekend and had a blast of a time. I had the privilege to be hosted at Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort, a magnificent beach front resort located along the quaint and beautiful Bangtao beach.

Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort reopened in April 2013 and all areas have been completely renovated with modern interiors subtly blended with contemporary Thai touches. Its main building showcases an old world architectural beauty with a unique element of old Thai inspired house. The main lobby is complete with lighting fixtures fashioned from antique fishing nets and a wall featuring black and white photos from the past. We even spotted some bamboo fishes at the main restaurant!

We were staying at the Deluxe Sea View which offers a spectacular view of the pool area and sea side. Our 43 sq meter room is spacious, clean and quaint. There’s a sunken Roman bath in the shower – quite a cool feature. We love to relax and admire the view from the huge daybed by the window or just sit down by the balcony to enjoy warm tropical breezes.

If you like upright, uninterrupted sea view, then the deluxe sea view room might be a right choice. The one bedroom suite is a gorgeous suite best suited for honeymooners or travelers who are willing to splurge a little.

Breakfast selection was great with an excellent spread. As a Thai food lover, I really enjoyed the Thai spread that varies from day to day. I had an average of two bowls of Thai style soup noodles every morning – perfect with some light seasoning of chili flakes, fish sauce, sugar and shallots.

Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort is also a family friendly resort –the Water Park and other sports activities have been enhanced and modernized which is perfect for kids’ excursions. One of the best feature is the water slides which is very popular amongst the kids and sometimes, adults too. There is also a kids club, which will keep your children entertained while you enjoy some much-needed time off.
The hotel guests also love feeding Candy the baby elephant that visits the Hotel in the morning and afternoon. Candy is really cute and playful; she tried to kiss every guest she saw in the resort.

Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort the only hotel in Laguna Phuket to offer Club services.  Guests of Club accommodations check-in at the private lounge, relax in guest rooms with special amenities, enjoy breakfast and evening refreshment in the exclusive dining room, and have access to a personal concierge. It is an exclusive and beautiful area; imagine having afternoon tea here, sitting at the plush sofa while enjoying the serene lagoon view.
Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resortis located within the greater resort community of Laguna Phuket with 1,000 acres of landscaped parks, calm lagoons, and sparkling beachs. Soo we made use of the free shuttle bus and ferry boat service which provide easy access to Canal Shopping Village and other properties within the Laguna area.

The beach bar and the beach is one of our favourite hang out spot in the resort. It is a great place to enjoy some cool Chang Beer or Sing-ha on a hot sunny day.

Apart from the beautiful landscape, spacious and relaxing room interior, great breakfast; Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort is well known for its people and services. I love getting a friendly smile and greeting everywhere I go. The hotel staffs have been extremely helpful and I am impressed with the service that we have gotten! Now I need to convince my CFO (kampungboy) to take me here for a minimoon!
