Previous: Bangkok Itinerary Day 3: Silom Thai Cooking School
After attending a fun & insightful cooking class, offering our prayers at Erawan Shrine, shopped at Platinum Mall, ate at Som Tam Nua and shopped again at Siam Square, it’s time to reward our weary feet and bodies with Traditional Thai Massage!
Health Land is one of the more established and famous massage/spa centre in Bangkok. There are a few branchs located in the heart of Bangkok’s CBD and we went to the Sathorn branch as it is located nearest to our hotel.
Health Land is set on a standalone bungalow and the interior looks nice and posh. Apart from a varieties of massage therapy, it offers spa and facial services too.
This place is extremely popular with the locals and tourists alike. It is advisable to call to make a reservation 1-2 days ahead. We saw a lot of walk in customers left the place without even securing a session.
We had an awesome 2 hour cracking and twisting session. The masseurs were experience and they really do have strength!
The masseurs were friendly and chatty during the massage. However, as our session came to an end, my father handed them a 300 baht tip to be shared amongst the 5 of them as he did not carry enough small change with him. Their attitude changed immediately and they started to demand for 500 baht. They were quite persistent that they were still asking for it after we changed.
We have read numerous good reviews on Health Land and these bunch of people could be the black sheep who spoils our experience at Health Land. We like Health Land’s location, reasonable pricing and masseur’s technique but not their attitude. So I’ll leave it for you guys to judge.
