One needs to include sky bar as a destination when in Bangkok. We’ve been to Sirocco Sky Bar @ Lebua State Tower, hence it is time to experience Bangkok’s stunning sky line at Vertigo & Moon Bar, Banyan Tree.

Vertigo & Moon Bar is built on the rooftop of the Banyan Tree’s custom-built tower. The platform is shaped like a bow of an ocean faring ship, anchored 61 floors above the bustling city.

Drinks are definitely expensive by Bangkok standard (~300-500 baht) but we see this as a cover charge for our entry to an exclusive viewpoint of the city.

‘Smart Casual’ dress code is applicable here – long trousers and closed shoes for gentlemen, no torn jeans, sleeveless tops, shorts or flip-flops for ladies and gents. My sister wore a flip flop and the wait staff borrowed her a pair of closed shoes a few sizes bigger than her feet. Ha Ha!

I like how they arrange the seatings where one gets unhindered 360 degree views from where ever they sit.

The bar had a chilled out vibe and we can actually sit down to soak in the dazzling chic atmosphere, unlike at Sirocco where one has to stand around the bar.

A lot of you have been asking us given limited time in Bangkok, which sky bar should you head to? We think that Sirocco being adjacent to the river, offers a better view of old Bangkok vs new Bangkok. There is also a ‘wow’ factor as you walk down the stairs from the dome. The only pull back factor is one does not get to sit around the bar.
