6D5N Bangkok + Hua Hin R&R Trip Iinerary (version Year 2011)
4D3N Bangkok Shopping Trip Itinerary (version Year 2012)
Previous: Bangkok Trip Day 2: Shopping @ Terminal 21
After a tiring day of shopping at Chatuchak Weekend Market & Terminal 21, we resorted to Lek Seafood as it is within walking distance from our service apartment.
Lek Seafood is a no frills eatery nestled just underneath Chong Nonsi BTS station. The crowd is a good mix of locals vs tourists.
Stir Fry Morning Glory (kangkung). like the crunchy stems and the gravy which went well with white rice.
Crab Meat Fried Rice. We missed the one we had at T&K so we ordered this. However, Lek Seafood’s version is nowhere near T&K’s
‘hoy law pad ga paow’ (stir fried baby clam with holy basil). The sweet, briny clam when infused with fresh basil flavour makes this a great tish.
‘tod man pla’ (Thai Fish Cake). The thai fish cake has a nice, bouncy bite but it was a tad too oily for our liking.
Steamed Catfish in Thai Style Sauce. It was served in a metal dish over a flame. The sweet, tangy lime sauce was appetising and the catfish was done just right, resulting in juicy and succulent flesh.
‘or suan’ (Oyster Omelette). It was done quite similiarly to our version of or chien with oysters in a batter and egg omelet. It was served sizzling and bubbling on an iron plate and on a pile of fresh beansprouts. It was too oily that oil oozed out with each bite. Not recommended.
There’s more missed than hits in the dishes we tried at Lek Seafood, making it a disappointing dinner. We would still prefer T&K Seafood anytime!
