Being a Diva for a Day!

How does it feel like being a diva? Well, it feels great! Courtesy of Capital FM 88.9 – Women, The New Capital, I got a first taste of being Diva last Saturday. It’s a truly money-can’t-buy experience as we get to hang out with the entire crew of Capital FM’s celebrity presenters.
Together with 10 Capital FM listeners and their friends; off we went on our Viva La Diva Tour. Our glamorous rides imprinted with faces of Capital FM announcers have been luring the attentions of passerby wherever we go. Xandria Ooi, Kim, Cindy, me, Polly and her younger sister Sue were allocated into the same team and same car. I hope our driver Mr. Z does not get annoyed by our chirpiness and noise level!
We started our day at Beauté Library @ USJ Taipan.
Beauté Library is a holistic centre which covers all aspects of wellness, which entails lifestyle, exercise, attitudes and nutritional awareness in a multidisciplinary approach. They even carry their own skin care brand!
Everyone gets a heavenly Silky Hand Treatment of hand massage and hand paraffin at Beauté Library. Jane just got her hand paraffin done.

To keep us going, Capital FM took us to tables+terrace, BSC for a hearty brunch before we started shopping in earnest!
IMG_4873 tables+terrace at BSC is a stunning space with a sleek, luxurious interior design. I especially like the soaring high floor-to-ceiling glass windows where one is able to gain a wonderful view of the city.

    Xandria’s team rocks!

Post lunch we embarked on some fun quizzes and games while tables+terrace gave out more dining vouchers!
In split seconds (minutes actually), we were spotted at Parkson Pavilion!
If you saw swarm of ladies in red taking Pavilion KL by storm last Saturday, don’t be surprised. It was us!
The tall and lanky Asha Gill blends in really well with mannequins cladded in Capital FM’s t shirt.
Of course, everyone is totally looking forward to this shopping session as Parkson Malaysia is very generous to sponsor us with shopping vouchers! Armed with a RM500 voucher each; the mother and daughter pair looked so joyous!
Even I can’t hide my excitement! I got myself a full set of working attire 😀

In between retail therapy, we took time to promote Fashion with a Cause, a Capital FM + Parkson collaboration. We went around Parkson Pavilion selling tote bags made from recycled PET bottles which come in 3 striking designs, each printed with a personalised message from Capital FM presenters, Xandria Ooi, Joanne Kam and Asha Gill. Each bag retails at only RM9.90, with 100% of the proceeds going to charity. We got some overwhelming responses from Parkson Pavilion shoppers; you guys rock!
Our team managed to raise the most funds, making us the surprise winners of this CK perfume!
An obligatory group photo right in front of Pavilion before we departed to our next destination.

    Thank you Parkson!

The Food Studio @ Amarin Kiara hosted us a culinary session run by Chef Paul. The place is also available for private functions (min 8 pax) and is nestled amongst some lush greenery in MK.

We were having hands-on cooking class of two to three recipes in a well-equipped, pristine teaching kitchen.
When it comes to mastering your favorite foods, nothing comes close to actually watching Chef Paul and Asha Gill demo it right in front of us.
    Team Xandria looking all pro!

Cutting boards are where most of the action happens in a commercial kitchen – the ladies were slicing, dicing and chopping away.
Cindy was flexing her muscle while stirring a pot of ratatouille.

From top left: roasted lamb, roasted potatoes, chili sin carne and desserts (omg so good!)
My plate was oozing with goodies and this is only the first serving!

The Viva La Diva tour was very well thought out and well planned event, with every single detail and unreadable situation were so well taken care of. We had so much fun to live the day in a life of a “diva”. Towards the end of the day, we told Lynette Ow, the GM of Capital FM that we hope this is going to be an annual thing!
Remember to tune in to Capital FM, Malaysia’s only radio station by women, for women, transmits to the Klang Valley via 88.9Mhz and is available for online streaming at Capital FM also has a mobile app for those who want to listen via their smartphones, just search ‘Capital FM’ at Google Play for Android users and App Store for iPhone users.

I’ve been listening to Joanne Kam and Xandria Ooi in “Talk of the Town”, 6am to 10am every weekday. The hot topics on discussion every morning keeps me going through my dull morning.
