Focusing on non halal local hawker fare, it is not difficult to guess that the newly opened E.A.T Food Village at Publika shopping gallery became my favourite lunching place. It brings together some of the best hawker food vendors from Klang Valley and North Peninsular Malaysia under one (air-conditioned) roof.

The decor reminds diner of yesteryear; with shop facades that look as though time freezes at 1950’s, Chinese calligraphy, poems, paintings and lingering Chinese oldies.

Oktoberfest is one of the most famous events in Germany and is so widely celebrated by 6 million people in the world. But if you missed your chance to board a Lufthansa flight and travel to Germany for all the fun, GAB has got us covered. GAB once again celebrates Oktoberfest in different restaurants and pubs in Malaysia this year. The month long event is going to be so fun!

Together with my partner in crime, we attended the Oktoberfest celebration at Jarrod & Rawlins. Jarrod & Rawlins is a great place to let off some steam after a hard day at work. I can’t recall when was the last time I came here. Oktoberfest added more fun to my usual happy hour here – just imagine an all you can eat, drink and dance celebration.

I love October. I think it’s my favorite month of the year. March (my birthday month) is a close runner up, but October wins hands down because of Oktoberfest!
I had my first Oktoberfest celebration at Sid’s Pub TTDI organized by GAB last year and boy I had so much fun and joy! GAB has so much more in store for us this year.

Benjaming Yong has done it again, Ben’s General Food Store being his latest venture replicating the success of For Goodness Sake, Ben’s, Canoodling, Plan B & T Forty Two.

Occupying almost one third of the menu, Ben’s General Food Store specializes in both sweet and savoury wood-fire pizzas. The simple one page menu also features salads, hot deli item and some dessert selection.

Suvarnabhumi Airport – Airport of Smiles


There are three easy ways to get to Bangkok city:
1.Limousine (fare starts from 950 baht for distance of >30-35 km)

2. Public Taxi (fare charged according to the distance traveled plus a fee of THB 50 for the driver, ~500 baht)

3. Airport Rail Link
i. SA City Line – The line makes 6 stops before reaching Phaya Thai station within 30 minutes (runs every 15 minutes). Fare is 15-45 baht.
ii. SA Express Line – Runs directly from Suvarnabhumi Station to Makkasan Station without stops. A journey takes about 15 minutes (runs every 20 minutes). One way ticket 90 baht, round trip ticket 150 baht
iii. New SA Express Line – New SA Express runs directly without stops from Suvarnabhumi Station to Phyathai Station twithin 18 minutes (runs every hour starting from June 1st, 2011).
