My Honeymoon Dessert @ Kota Damansara

IMG_7691
One of my favourite things to do in Hong Kong is to pop by one of the many dessert shops after a full, satisfying meal. Sweet soup/dessert after meal is a distinct culture that is deeply ingrained in Hong Kong people’s daily life. I tend to crave for desserts even at the most inopportune times in a day, sometimes I just wish that I can jump on the teleportation pad and bounce in to Hong Kong for some real authentic Hong Kong style desserts.

hm
Until someone told me that I don’t have to do that. When the cravings hit, just go to My Honeymoon Dessert House that serves up some of the most authentic Hong Kong dessert specialties.

With more than 100 dessert items available on the menu, there is something to please everyone’s specific tastes.

We were introduced to their house specialty – Durian Pancake and Mango Pancake. With ripe mangoes/durian, light cream and wafer thin skin; each bite was pure bliss!
IMG_7725
Mango Dessert with Pamelo

Uses only mangoes from Phillipines with lusciously fragrant sweet juicy flesh, My Honeymoon Dessert takes pride in their mango dessert selection.
IMG_7739
Mango Hor Fun. The “fun” is actually some coconut flavored jelly that gave a nice and bouncy bite, a nice contrast to the juicy and meltingly soft flesh of those mango cubes.

Mango Hor Fun with mixed fruits

We also tried a whole lot of other desserts that feature heavily on mangoes. It was definitely a night of mango overdose but who cares? :D
IMG_7753
Mango Special Maruko

A twist from the usual mango dessert – succulent slices of sweet, ripe mango paired with soft, chewy glutinous rice balls.

Couple Slurped – Ice Blended Mango & Honeydew

Mango Dessert with Yam, Grass Jelly and White Grass Jelly\

The soft and sweet yam, together with the delicate black & white grass jelly creates a perfectly delicious match.
IMG_7812
Mango Dessert with Mixed Fruits and Translucent Jelly

This cooling and refreshing dessert is perfect for our hot Malaysian weather. The translucent jelly on top gave a nice touch to it.
IMG_7821
Colorful Granulated Ice

These are gorgeous, almost (just almost) too pretty to eat! Love the beautiful shade of orange with splashes of different color here and there.
IMG_7841
Baked Mango Rice Cake

Wrapped with a thin layer of crepe skin, the bite-size mango rice cake offers a soft bite.

Mango Rice Cake Roll
IMG_7861
Mango Pudding

The wobbly mango pudding has chunks of mango in it and is not overly sweet. …
IMG_7771
We moved on to some other conventional desserts such as the 糖不甩 (glutinous balls with shredded coconut and brown sugar).

Crepes with Blueberry Sauce and Chocolate Ice Cream

Crepes with Blueberry Sauce and Blueberry Ice Cream

Carefully assembled into different layers, the crepes look too pretty to be eaten! My Honeymoon Dessert also uses their special in house blueberry sauce and blueberry ice cream which tasted really good.

KY loves his pineapple & ginger drink.
IMG_7828
Black Glutinous Rice Dessert with Durian Pulp aka 榴连忘返, one of their best selling desserts.
IMG_7846
Soy Flavored Shave Ice

We also tried some of their shave ice selection. It was light and delicious, and came in an appealing presentation loaded with various other ingredients such as beans, food, grass jelly and this “exploding pearls”. The pearl alike little balls will burst in your mouth, revealing a sweet, tangy Yakult flavored juice. SO intriguing that we kept popping those balls into our mouths.

My Honeymoon Dessert offers a veritable treasure trove of fruity desserts and various other treats, from crepes, waffles to shave ice and sweet soup. All in all, we had a very satisfying pair of meals, and it is a fun little place to check out.

And we have a piece of good news for our readers here! My Honeymoon Dessert is giving out RM 20 vouchers to the first 5 readers who comment! Hurry all it takes is just a comment! =)

I seriously think this outlet has the worst ever service. I waited 45min for my 2bowls of cold tong Sui. Few other customers were also getting pissed off n just walked away because they keep saying the tong Sui is coming. The funny thing was, the whole shop was not even busy.only a 6-person table, another 2 tables with 2 couples..that’s all!!!! I think alot of ppl who went for the first time will nvr go again aft they left…instead, they’d rather go to Snowflakes which is jus a shop beside
