We promised each other to have two overseas holiday per year as soon as we joined the rat race. And finally, our second holiday for the year is happening!
We will be traveling along the South West region and our route is Perth City – Mandurah – Bunbury – Busselton – Margaret River – Augusta. We will also be heading up north to Pinnacles Desert. Our blogging hiatus may last for a week so in the mean time, do follow our twitter account at kgboycitygal for more updates!

Hello, I was actually researching food options in KL and came across your blog. I would love to pick your brain about ‘the best’ of in KL but am having problems working out how far everything is in distances in KL. I am at The Larder ( a fine food store ) in Margaret River and would be happy to share some local food knowledge should you need it. We are situated across from the visitors centre in the main street. Pop in and say hi!
thanks Andrea
it was really nice meeting u andrea!

Hi citygal, I like to ask, would you be heading to Fremantle?
If yes, would you be visiting the Fremantle Prison?
There is a souvenir that I wish you can help me to buy.
I’ll pay you back be it in AUD or RM.
Thank you.
hi winnie, so sorry just saw ur msg. i did saw the machine at fremantle prison 🙁
it’s alright, citygal. thanks anyway…. was the bussleton jetty open when u were ther? it was still under construction when i was there during the hari malaysia break… where did u get the bussleton coin?
yeah i got it frm the vending machine. still under construction, can only take pic outside. we got fremantle prison keychain instead of the coin, too bad 🙁
did u rent a car while u were there? or did you joined local tours?
the perth royal show looks interesting..
yeah we rented a car for the first 3 days. day 4 we joined the pinnacles desert day tour. perth royal show is happening every yr, during spring time. n everyday the show ends with a 20 min fireworks. spectacular!
Hi, I wanted to add that i live in Western Australia. When i get home from work today i will send you an email with suggestions of where you can go to makan and sights that you should see. What sort of foods are you interested in?
hi simon, thanks but unfortunately i just saw ur msg after i’ve gone back. no internet for the past 7 days.
we did ciao italia, the green house at st georges terrace and taka lol. ate a lot in fremantle, went to perth royal show n spent most of our time at margaret river
perth is a nice place. did u manage to try the sand dunes at Pinnacle? i missed it coz i went at the wrong timing -during easter break. a lotsa shops closed, public transportation regularity has been reduced and most of the rental cars were damaged due to the snow storm that hit perth a week before i arrived..sigh..:P
hi devi, yeah we went to south west region as well as the pinnacles desert n lancelin sand dune. it was reli nice! u can go again ma 🙂
Hi Kampungboy/CityGal,
I would like to know that will there be any problem to get to the airport from perth city centre very early in the morning? AA fligth lah…. do they charge extra for odd hour for taxi?
Thanks
hi candy, u can actually take the shuttle bus to the city. info here – http://www.perthairport.com/Default.aspx?MenuID=19
Hi kampungboy/Citygal,
Thank you very much for your reply.
One more thing, I know the petrol price is high there or
rather the exchange rate is high, roughly how much you paid for
the petrol for the 3 days with the rented car?
Thanks
Hi this is a bit tricky, because dif petrol station has dif pump price per liter, the difference is about 0.05 to 0.2 per liter. We spend about AUD 100 for 3 days
