Mill Wheel (Pao Bing) @ MetroPrima, Kepong [CLOSED]

    mill wheel

I’ve heard so much of good thing about this shave ice place, Mill Wheel from friends and colleagues but never gain enough of courage to go beyond the Penchala Toll of LDP to an area that I hardly set my foot in. Being the lucky one, as always, my friends, Kenny and CK brought me here one night.

A brilliant idea breed by a group of ice enthusiastic, Mill Wheel is a huge success where it was being featured by Ho Chiak! and One Day Five Meal. Occupying only the half front of two shop lots, the place is small so I could imagine this place to be full of people diving into sparkling mounds of ice etched with different toppings. Fortunately, we managed to grab a table after 10 minutes of waiting and drooling. Patrons can shop around for some cute souvenirs and books that were displayed at one corner of the shop as well.

We were having a great dilemma in choosing from snow (single flavoured ice), snow cheese (ice with layers of cheese at the bottom), pudding, ice cake, paobing special (pudding sandwiched between two layers of ice), etc. We settled with 20 and 30 from the 20, 30, 40 series which was inspired by the movie of the same name.

The snow like mound is drizzled with a continent’s worth of varieties such as cornflakes, syrups, colored jellies and chocolate chips. Simple, and simply the best for our hot tropical climate, nothing feels cooler in your mouth than these finely well shaved ice. Contrary to the usual crunchy and crispy ice kacang, the shavings are so smooth that I thought we were having ice cream. These cotton soft ice goodies are so good that we lick our bowl clean. Ops, can’t help it.

I’d highly recommend this little dessert shops to everyone! It has sure done a very good job in enticing sweaty passer-by as well as patrons who came all over just for their ice desserts. Well, the best thing is, each time you dine in, you’ll get a 20% voucher redeemable on your next visit! I’m planning for my second visit, anyone?
